Description
You look up from the ripped up map in your hands to inspect the large gate in front of you. Each door was at least twelve feet tall, and the metal bars shooting out from either side were topped with spikes. Taking a deep breath to prepare yourself for whatever lies ahead, you push open the door.***
Ambience
-Main Areas-
The front gate - The main entrance to The Forge. Though you can technically enter through the forest, as there is no fence along the entire ranch, it isn't a wise decision considering the amount of wild pokemon and some of the owner's pokemon that may not be as friendly. Traveling along the stone path to the front door is the easiest and safest route.
Dragonflame Peak - The main mountain of the land, it is the highest and widest of all the peaks. It is an incredible 9045 meters high, rivalling some of the tallest mountains in the world. its sister mountains are not much smaller. The Dragonflame Forge has been carved into this mountain.
Charizard's Head Lake - A large body of water in the east. Named after the giant sculpture of a Charizards head that lies in the exact center of the lake. It is unknown who built it, and why. The head serves as a gateway into the Dragon Catacombs. During the winter the entire lake will freeze solid, letting you walk all the way out to the middle easily.
The Dragonpool - A small pond in the center of the eastern forest surrounding the mountain. It is connected to the Charizard's Head Lake by the Charmeleon River. The pond is said to have magical properties, and gives anyone to drinks it or bathes in it a freshness they've never felt before. It is great for the healing of the sick.
-Lesser Areas-
The Forge - The main hub of the ranch, this is where the trainer lives, as well as most of the pokemon. The place gets it's name from the massive forge in the base of the mountain that was there when Dawn arrived. But she ended up improving the place to be more modern and to her liking. Her house is in the second level of the forge. There are various nests and rooms throughout the mountain.
Pokemon of interest: Excaliburs Shield (leader), Supposed Acorns , Maximum Speed , Absolute Tyranny , Dragons Symphony , Infernal Wings
The Dragon Catacombs - A series of tunnels, rooms, tombs and other things in a maze like structure all under the Charizard's Head Lake. The only known entrance is the Charizard's Head monument, whose mouth is the way in. The place is not well understood. Dawn only knows a little about it's origins by the writing on the wall, that say it was used as an escape tactic during a war long ago. Only ghost and dark type pokemon hang out there, but the occasional rock or ground type will show up as well.
Pokemon of interest: Summer Solstice (leader), Devils Delinquent , The First War , Beyond The Shadows , End Of Reality , Absence Of Light , Blank Canvas ,
The Room of Writing - A giant circular room deep underneath the base of the main mountain. Dawn would have never known about it if it wasn't for one of her pokemon finding it by chance while digging. Her pokemon unearthed a previously closed off spiral stairway that leads into the center of the room. The floor, walls and ceiling of the room are covered in ancient, possibly prehistoric pictures of pokemon, some of which are unknown. There is also writing covering the walls to explain the pictures, but it isn't in any known language. The room is considered sacred and thus any person or pokemon entering needs permission from Dawn herself. Some of her more trusted pokemon are allowed in on their own will like
Pokemon of interest: Silence of the Drones , Saint Dracula , Igneous Dispersion
-Biomes-
The Forest - A large, densely packed area covering most of the south, with a mix of deciduous and evergreen trees. The majority of Dawn's pokemon spend their time here, as it is friendly to pokemon of all types. Though there is quite a lot of bug type pokemon to be found here.
Pokemon of interest: Excaliburs Shield , Supposed Acorns , Maximum Speed (leader), Tropo Traverser , Jurassic Jungle , Northern Pride , Royal Fighter Tyrenia
The Lake - The largest body of water in the area, off to the east. The water is cold all year, and is the perfect place to go swimming in the heat of summer. Water types are the most prominent here for obvious reasons.
Pokemon of interest: Intuitive Liquids (leader), Magma Kingdom , Trench Wanderer , Trilobite Barricade , Eye Of The Storm
The Moor - The swampy marshlands that surround the main lake to the east. It is difficult to walk as it is either mud or water you're walking through. Mostly water, grass and ground types live here.
Pokemon of interest: Crafty Croaker , Monster Beach
The Desert - Endless hills of sand, this is the hottest place on the ranch. Located in the far west, it is fire, ground and rock types that dwell here. Large groups of wild ninetales and vulpixes live here.
Pokemon of interest: Armenian Highlander , Conjuring The Cataclysm (leader), Stronghold Stomp , Terra Conqueror , Silent Warrior Najashita
The Plains - A large area of nothing but grass and the occasional tree, the plains in the north are the perfect place for all types of pokemon.
Pokemon of interest: Bed Of Daisies , Harder Than Diamonds (leader), Kinetic Fern , Prince Pounce , The Fruit Of Friendship , Affectionate Fireworks , Gladiator Gaizaka
The Mountain - The most inhospitable place in the entire area, few creatures actually live near the mountain's peak. Only rock, ground, ice and dragon types can thrive that high up, but you'll also see the occasional flying type.
Pokemon of interest: Louwala-Clough (leader), High Knight Xyrexion , Impenetrable Ancile , Strong Survivalist , Sub-Zero Combustion , Eclipse Of The Moon
