Description
So, it's the same old story. Trying to draw someone else you may know from memory. I thought I was doing a pretty good job, but when I step back from my work I see how short if falls of the mark. I won't even begin to list all the flaws in this picture-- you can see them yourself. Maybe it should be in scraps, but it's not terrible per se. If you don't know what she's supposed to look like, it might seem OK. Though she ended up looking really grumpy.I tried out a new kneaded eraser I bought on this for the first time.

The proportions are a bit off, but you can easily fix that. What I see first is how far back her head goes, all you have to do is erase about half of her hair and I think you would be good. Another thing you can do is shade more. There isn't enough contrast and it makes her look flat. Pick a side for "light" to shine on and darken the other side. Faces can cast some dark shadows, so do not be afraid of shading too much.
I really love her facial expression by the way, she looks mysterious.

Thank you for the well-thought-out comment. I will consider some of those changes. I am afraid to shading too much and messing up what I've done.
