This is brilliant, I'd definately watch the movie, I think it has the right amount of grit factor that darker steampunk has.

The script is brilliant I will say. It was a sequel and standalone to the low budget film Small Town Folk.
I was to do the concept and creature/SFX... it got bogged down in development hell. Nice thing is, it's not totally canned.
also... thank you!

I never saw that film but after looking for the actor I think it does look interesting.
So it's open to actually being done at some point? Lucky thing, what's it like doing creature concepts and special effects? When I was younger I had this great dream of working for Jim Henson's monster workshop (not technically the same but it...sort of the same sort of!)
You're welcome!

It is... the script is still there and hopefully one day it will get made. There's no guarantee that I am doing it. Nothing is guaranteed in the film game.
Me too. I just entered the industry as Henson's Creature shop was shutting down. I did manage to work with them on the first Potter film - they made the Troll and a few animals like ron's rat and some animatronic owls.
It's great obviously.. but you don't know where your next job is coming from.. or when it's going to happen. Creature-wise it's being taken over by CGI... which is great in its own right. I'm not a practical effects warrior who thinks everything should be animatronic puppets... I mean... look at Gollum or Avatar.

True true, I guess also you have to wait for the right time and all that and sometimes the right time just never comes.
Aww that's such a shame! They used to be so huge too.
Yeah i imagine that can be a little annoying. Hmm I sort of still like the old puppets more, I don't know why, CG is great and all and it's true, the Avatar and Gollum ones are amazing, and you can do much with it, but still, there;s something different about a puppet, I mean as a kid I think I would have been much more impressed with the puppets than if I saw something CG (which I hardly remember being around lol) but maybe that's just me! Some things it's just impossible to do without CG

One of my top 3 films is admittedly The Dark Crystal. Beautiful film. A tour de force in ultimate puppet use and artistry.
They wanted to do a sequel, but the studio insisted on CG... which is I think pretty pointless.

You know I've never seen that film!
I think that CG would have ruined it, sometimes its best to leave things alone

Very nice! Although at first glance I though he was some sort of demented surgeon I like it though
