Description
This is a redraw of my drawing "All Must Die ". Oh yes I do prefer this new one.Well, it's been over a year since All Must Die, and I was still using Paint Shop Pro 7 for colouring (lineart on ye olde paper), and I had no tablet so it was all done by mouse. -.-
Anywho, this is Lucien Lachance from TES: Oblivion, waiting to give the order of Purification to his Silencer.
It may well be that he didn't much think about it - business is business and traitors must be caught - but this is one way to look at it.

I think he would stop to think about it, even for a moment because remember he raised the two Argonians from hatchlings. And he inducted most of the members himself... It must have been a hard call for him.

This is wonderful. I think it captures just much it affected Lucien to have to order the deaths of the assassins he gathered and watched over for all those years.

I've had this up in my browser for days. Figured that if I couldn't stop looking at it, I should probably fave. ^_^ I love his pose, and the expression on his face - behind the theatrics of being a high-ranking assassin, I always think of him as being thoughtful... a bit sadistic in the right circumstances, but not truly cruel or uncaring. This drawing really speaks to that. It's fantastic.

Art style looks pretty and improved but I think I like image composition more in the previous version.

I hated that mission. My first playthrough I was going for a legal-good guy, but I accidentally killed someone (must have been in that murky town of..... below Chorrol), and then Lucien came. At first I wasn't going to follow him, but I thought; "Oh, whatever, lets see what all the fuss is about!"
When I went into the sanctuary, I felt like at home.... I quickly grew fond of everyone, and found the kajhiit quiet a character.
When Lucien told me I had to kill everyone I just... couldn't. I did, in the end, but it was such a hard mission.
Anyways, I love your portrayal of Lucien. Just like I imagine him without the hood.

I have to say, I really love this. Everything about it is great. I ended up getting attached to this character over the course of the game and I was sad; the way he died was too freakin' horrible.

And I also must say that I can see an interesting mood in Lucien from this picture. It's almost... quizzical, the way he looks. He's wondering, "Just WHO exactly is behind the compromise of the Brotherhood?"
Or maybe...
Maybe he's both sad and angry at the fact that he's sent one of his members to go off and kill everyone in the Sanctuary... sad that his friends, his "family members" must die, and angry at the fact that it must be done and there's nothing he can do about it...

But what REALLY takes my breath away is the ominous hand stamp of the Dark Brotherhood. It's kind of like a reminder that all of the tenets must be followed, and if any of them are broken, then everyone must face...consequences.

I can't draw or paint to save my life, so I can't actually critique this the way I want to, which makes me sad. But, I digress. Here's a nice review of your work from a writer's point of view.
I absolutely adore the mood you're setting with this picture. The dark hues, soft lighting, Lucien's expression, his posture....it shows that he's in deep thought, hesitation, which is very profound, given what this picture is based on. I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't feel anything about what he has to do; he's known the members of the Cheydinhal sanctuary for a long time, especially Ocheeva and Teinevva.
I can't really find anything wrong with it, but then again, I don't have an artist's eye. All in all, it's perfect to me. You've captured this moment perfectly. Fav'd.

As with perhaps most Lucien Lachance fans, I also hated doing that quest, and I hated how the Dark Brotherhood ended. Now to the picture:
His posture really brings out a different side to him; the simple act of stroking his chin greatly suggests his growing concern and perhaps hesitation, which I really like. The concentration and worry on his face is stunning and really shows what he must be thinking, and I also like the poison on the table, though it seems to be very slightly uneven on one side, but it's so small that it's barely noticable. His neck also seems to be a little too thick, but I think that's just me looking at differently, and something seems a little off with the chair. It seems like the actual seat is too low for him to be sitting on it properly, but again it's something very small. But I really enjoyed looking at this piece and thank you for sharing it with us

The bottle is definitely wonky, and I think the chair is weird, too - you're absolutely right about the seat. The neck... I dunno, looks good enough to me.
