What's in a name? A comic by The original: [link]I was looking for things to vector for my page and found this comic by *egophiliac and loved it. It holds a lot of meaning for me because my mother used to sing this song to me when I was young.
It took 6-8 hours, Photoshop crashed twice so that didn't help. So much pen tool! But I hope people like it. Thanks again to *egophiliac
The text and gradients are rastered which is why it's blurry, I will fix this someday. I would like to not upload my PSD but if anyone would like a part of it or larger resolution just ask.

It's weird actually. Some people find it depressing, some people find it heartwarming or touching. Then some find it both. It's always an interesting emotion really. Everyone interprets it differently. Some interpret it as a loving memory to how his mother, who is alive, gave him his name, which is heart warming and sweet. And others see it as him remembering his mother who passed. Sociology is fun.

Well, I see it literally: As his mother sings to his brother "You my sunshine, my ONLY sunshine", the colt in the back looks sad as his brother's getting more of the attention than him. Either I'm feeling sorry for the ignored brother or the fact the grown up guard Sunshine Smiles is remembering his ignored brother. (By the way, sorry if that didn't make any grammatical sense. It's 5:00 am and I've not slept in a few days)

Quite alright, I can't type half the time anyways. But the brother on her back isn't forgotten, he's just sleeping. Or at least that's what I intended. Maybe I'll add some "Z"s to make it obvious. It's not that he's her "only" sun shine, that's just how the song goes. Besides, even if he's her Sunshine that doesn't mean the other brother can't be something else. I could see how you could make that connection though. You've also been the first. But the whole notion of this comic is of his name, hence the dialog being directed at him, and also the biggest cue, the title being "What's in a name," referring to his name.
