Crazy chapter! What it lacked in fanservice it made up for with plot big time. I’m glad Chloe was able to pick her life back up and get things together. It was also nice to see how her sister Elizabeth is so supportive of her. But I do think that Roberto’s right. I think it was right of Chloe to break up with Roberto so that she could distance herself from her obsession, but she could’ve checked up on him at least every now and then. Also, she was very quick to get angry at Roberto for having dinner with Carla, even though he clearly described that he is in a period of painful loneliness and depression. But at the same time, while what Chloe did was certainly wrong, I still wouldn’t consider her an asshole. I know the feeling of anxiety that sometimes comes with the prospect of reuniting with people, and so I sympathize with Chloe for that reason. And the feeling only gets worse the more time passes. It wasn’t easy for Chloe to muster the courage to speak to Roberto after all that time, and to be greeted by him venting his frustrations towards her could have only made her feel worse (not to mention she was most likely slightly tipsy). I think if Chloe was in a clearer head she wouldn’t have been so quick to assume that Roberto and Carla were dating again. Anyways, this has been a massive review. I really do love how rich the plot is in this story. It is rare for me to get invested in the lives of fictional characters (especially from writing, as opposed to tv), but this story is managing to make me do that. Thanks so much for writing this chapter, only one more to go!
