My Dragon Age 2 Actors meme created using trixdraws' blank meme. I tried to stay away from any big "Hollywood" names, sticking mostly to actors/actresses seen in one or more TV series, albeit there's some exceptions.

My comments on the specific choices follow herein below. Where reference is made to an actor/actress as being "see in ..." that refers to the TV series or movies I have watched and where that actor/actress has appeared.

If you don't like one or more of my picks, that's perfectly understandable: just go make your own DA2 actors meme (link to the blank meme is below). I kindly ask to refrain from leaving comments simply saying "I don't like X" or "Z is unsuitable to portray that character". You are welcome to explain why you think a certain actor/actress is unsuitable for the role, but one line comments such as those mentioned above will simply be hidden.

According to the timestamp of my files, I started working on this DA2 Actors Meme back in 2013, but I never got to finish it until today. I remember being inspired to make my own meme after seeing a few other DAO and/or DA2 actors meme here on dA, but the project got stuck because I couldn't settle on anyone to portray some of the characters. Now that I've finally filled the entire meme, I realized that I've picked several actors/actress in common with crisurdiales 's own DA2 Actors meme [link] , i.e. one of the memes that inspired me to make my own 3 years ago... With the exception of my pick for Cassandra, which was entirely based on seeing that meme, I didn't remember about who else was in that cast until I looked it up again today. Now I'm wondering whether those choices got stuck in my subconscious...

CAST:

Stephen Amell as Garrett Hawke: (seen in Arrow) In my own canon Garrett is a rogue and I couldn't help but think of Amell's role as super-hero/vigilante Arrow in the TV series of the same name when it came to choose the actor for Garrett Hawke's role. Besides, I found it funny that I could have an actor whose last name is Amell as Hawke!

Katee Sackhoff as Marian Hawke: (seen in Battlestar Galactica, Longmire, Riddick) For Marian's role I thought of Katee Sackhoff because I wanted an actress used to roles involving a strong female character while also being able to portray a hot-headed Hawke because my headcanon for Marian is that she is a real troublemaker.

Jenna Coleman as Bethany Hawke: (seen in Doctor Who) Picking an actress for Bethany's role was a bit difficult because this is my favorite character in the game. I originally thought of Alexis Bledel, but later discarded the idea because she didn't entirely fit my view of Bethany, a sweet girl who happens to be a mage who finds fighting alongside her elder sibling to be "surprisingly fun". In the end, I cast Jenna Coleman since I find there's a certain facial resemblance with Bethany and her appearance as Clara Oswald in Doctor Who showed she can play the role of the pretty, sweet girl who likes to kick ass.

Colton Haynes as Carver Hawke: (seen in Arrow) Given that poor Carver dies in 99% of my DA2 playthroughs I find it funny that I had the least trouble of all to find an actor for his role. My choice was partly due to a reasonable facial resemblance with Carver and the fact that Haynes'role in Arrow made him a sort of... younger brother for Stephen Amell's character. Given that I cast Amell as Garrett, I find it fitting to have Haynes as his brother.

Agam Darshi as Isabela: (seen in Sanctuary) Darshi's role in Sanctuary is that of con-artist for hire who ends up teaming with the good guys for the sake of doing the right thing. That's basically what happens to Isabela so she seemed a natural fit for the role of the Queen of the Eastern Seas.

Alexis Bledel as Merrill: (seen in Gilmore Girls (don't ask...), Sin City) I'll admit she her facial resemblance with Merrill isn't particularly good, but I still though Alexis Bledel suitable for the role of the naive elven mage who is careless enough to practice blood magic.

Anna Torv as Aveline Vallen: (seen in Fringe) My original pick for Aveline was Kristanna Loken, but as much as Ms Loken could play the role of the tough warrior I couldn't really see her being the tomboyish and somewhat awkward Guard Captain of Kirkwall. I then turned to Anna Torv for Aveline's role, feeling that her role as a FBI agent made her a suitable option given Aveline's "by the book" approach.

Lucas Bryant as Fenris: (seen in Haven) Given Fenris' broody demeanor the idea was to find an actor with a comparable broody demeanor and I thought of Bryant, plus he seems to have a suitable height and build for Fenris' role.

John Batchelor as Varric: (seen in Sea Patrol) I swear that figuring out who could be Varric was the biggest headache possible. In the end I picked John Batchelor under my (mistaken?) impression that he's got a certain facial resemblance with Varric.

Josh Holloway as Anders: (seen in Lost) Whenever I come across a picture of Josh Holloway from his days as a member of the Lost cast I feel like pointing a finger and scream: "Rebel!" to the guy... And since Anders is a rebel to the core I figured the role was proper for this actor.

David Paetkau as Sebastian Vael: (seen in Flashpoint) The second most difficult character when I had to figure out who would play the role. David Paetkau lacks a good facial resemblance with Sebastian, except those blue eyes maybe, but I was getting out of options and I found it fitting that Patkau's character in Flashpoint is a sniper and an archer is probably the closest equivalent to a sniper in Dragon Age...

Kate Mulgrew as Flemeth: (seen in Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: Nemesis) I know, I didn't exercise any particular degree of imagination here, but I simply couldn't think of anyone else better suited for the role than Flemeth's voice actress.

Kyra Sedgwick as Meredith Stannard: (seen in The Closer) Meredith is without doubt a woman who can hold her own against anyone, male or female and that meant I had to find an actress who had proved to be credible in a similar role. This reasoning led me to Kyra Sedgwick in light of her role in The Closer, plus there's a fair resemblance with Meredith.

Jackie Earle Haley as Orsino: (seen in Human Target) Jackie Earle Haley played a wide variety of roles in his career as far as I can tell, so I though he would be suitable for Orsino, a character who turns out to have an unexpected number of facets. Also, once again I think there's a good degree of resemblance with the character.

Jon Gries as Viscount Marlowe Dumar: (seen in The Pretender, Lost) The choice here was purely based on resemblance, not much other reasoning behind it.

Morena Baccarin as Cassandra Pentaghast: (seen in Stargate SG-1, The Mentalist, V, Deadpool) As I already mentioned above, the idea to cast Morena Baccarin as Cassandra was entirely suggested by a previous DA2 actors meme I've seen here on dA. I find there is a strong facial resemblance with Cassandra, so now I can hardly think of someone else for the role.
