Using this right now, and its SOOO helpful! LOL on the doodles.
Couldn't you just use a bucket fill tool when you do the base colour?

My gimp won't set colour to alpha so you can't see the lines.

Thank GOD... You're my hero. I don't have a tablet, and I use online editing programmes instead of GIMP or PS. It's so much more comforting that it's possible to make something this good without all the professional equipment.

at what? colouring or tutorials?
colouring just takes practice and patience; it's mostly about learning where the light falls, and what the anatomy is like, which means studying photos until you at least know the basics by heart i'm really not that good at colouring; there are loads of far better people out there
still, i'm glad you like it

Your coloring seems to be quite good MUCH better than mine but like you said I NEED MOOORE PRACTICE TO GET BETTER

practice makes perfect i find using a reference to colour from makes life much easier when you want colouring practice. if you try to reproduce the reference picture as closely as possible it is easier to see what you need to work on
the other thing is patience; i'm not an overly patient artist - i hate anything that takes more than an hour or two to do (i take lots of breaks, which is why i have so many uncompleted WIPs) - but even the horse for the tutorial took about an hour to colour, and it's not a complicated coat. the longer you take, the better it will look

i was hoping i had explained thing simply; it is intended for beginners, but i'm not always very good at explaining things in a simple way. i over compliate things way too much
