This is so beautiful! Just the overall soft feel of the picture is wonderful. I have no idea why they wouldn't choose this to be a finalist. But it is a lovely piece!

Do you mean The Shire from LOTR? I love those films, and, obviously, the book, and it is always a source of inspiration for me.

Yes. Your work has such a warm feeling to it that I could really believe that shire would be a place like that if I hadn't seen the movie. (because seeing the movie creates the shire image in our heads without having us imagine it)

Great work, I just felt it needed a bit more depth and the light on the knight was a bit strong, but I guess you could fix those in post. (Which I have immense trouble beliving that some of the entrants this year did not actually use.)
