So its not Obama's problem you say? So how did you and your mom feel while he was taking a bunch of vacations on YOUR mom's money? Do you think he enjoyed Maratha's Vineyard? Hmm? I'm sure he did. and all those trips he and his wife make on separate jets? and all the money they spend on shit that they don't need? and how about spiking the football on the killing of Osama? after he said he wouldn't? Face it, he's a hopeless and pathetic leader and shouldn't be in the white house. Plus his first two years in office he had both the house and the (I forget what you call it but he had the majority) Its sad really, very sad.
And you should really learn how to spell and use your grammar correctly. Its kinda sad really.

Dude
He literally has to try and make
Every
Single
Person
In
America
Happy
That is the hardest job anyone has ever had to do
So I think he Deserves a break
I mean
How would you feel if you tried to help our country
And everyone around you didn't let you
Then everyone else got mad for something you couldn't control
All the while having opinions being thrown at you in all shapes and sizes
You'd want a vacation to
Besides
Normal people take vacations all the time
and no one complains about them

Republicans of the distant past established the clean air act, the environmental protection agency, and conservation efforts that did a world of good for decades.
Republicans of the RECENT past actively opposed all of these things and have reversed or reduced some of them with no logical, objective explanation...but you can always look up where they get their money and see that it's the same corporations whose actions are limited by environmental policies.

Like, cutting funding to environmental protection and lowering standards - making it legal to pollute more than it used to be and allowing companies to develop or drill in formerly protected land.

with all due respect, our country is in debt, so I can get the cutting funding stuff. I don't completely agree with destroying protected land, but I think the pollution stuff is overstressed.

If you ask anyone in the scientific community - chemists, biologists, people who directly study the environment and pollutants - they are if anything UNDERstressed. Massive extinctions of life due to our pollutants are already proven to be going on around the world, not to mention just grossly inefficient practices. You might think wood or paper is the main reason we tear down rainforests, for instance, but the biggest reason is to make land for cattle raised by McDonalds and other fast food chains. All that, just for the cheapest, poorest quality and unhealthiest burgers :/ ...that's just one example really, of something really costly on the environment that's nothing but a luxury and could be done a lot better.

No scandal at all - there were some people who falsified some information, but that was blown out of proportion by the media, and even so, it's solidly proven by a staggering amount of evidence and studies from all over the world that the climate is changing severely with a significant link to human activity. [link] this is one of numerous sites answering all the common criticisms, questions and doubts on the subject.
Scientific consensus has a consistent record of being trustworthy, because of just how diverse and competitive scientists are; it means a lot when a majority of them can agree on anything at all, since it's in their best interests to dis-prove one another and look better. They don't just report what they want to be true; they know there's always thousands of other scientists who will just test it for themselves, spot the fraud right away, and ruin their reputation forever. It really doesn't leave room for big conspiracies.

scythemantis In reply to Violetthefox0001 [2012-07-12 01:57:30 +0000 UTC]
Those claims themselves are the "scandal." Nothing "hacked into" or "discovered" ever showed any scientists exaggerating, lying, falsifying or otherwise showed anything untrue about man-made global warming, and the fact remains that the entire rest of the world's scientific research supports it anyway, unrelated to any organizations involved in the alleged "scandal"

scythemantis In reply to Violetthefox0001 [2012-07-13 20:45:12 +0000 UTC]
No, I have not, sorry. People aren't even quoting them correctly; people took what the scientists said about their budget and twisted it into referring to climate, among other things, and nothing they even ALLEGEDLY said changes how thoroughly proven it is that the Earth is warming by human influence. THAT is a sure fact, there's no reversing that fact.
We can see how much heat is supposed to escape our atmosphere, see how much heat carbon traps, see how much carbon our industry adds to thee atmosphere, and see how much heat is failing to escape now. That's just one way in which it all adds up perfectly
The people who want you to believe in a "scandal" are the people who make all their money from the same technologies that cause the pollution to begin with

It's not that the e-mails were fake, it's that they don't actually show scientists lying or cheating about climate science; the lingo throughout doesn't mean what the news coverage was taking it to mean, and is referring to something totally different to begin with. I know what they're talking about as a "Scientist" of sorts myself, but I can see how it would be easy to twist.

"Obamacare" single handedly saved the lives of people I know and there is literally nothing harmful about it. Even what republicans claim in their criticisms of it would not be harmful if came true. They ONLY oppose it because they didn't come up with it and that means they can't use it as a tool to manipulate people and line their pockets.
Why do you want my friends and loves ones to be dead on the shoddy health care they were stuck with before? What kind of dickhead are you?
Welfare recipients already get cellphones, always did. You can get them for free from many organizations. Giving cars to welfare recipients sounds like an excellent idea too, we can easily afford it and it would mean more money for car manufacturers anyway. More jobs. Also gives the poor a means of GETTING a job if they're looking. I'm borderline homeless myself and you know absolutely nothing if you think poor people are just "lazy" like the other right-wing vermin.
Do you know the meaning of "Godwin's law" by the way? You can compare almost anything by any political party to Hitler. It doesn't fucking mean anything. A civilian police force was not what made Hitler a monster. Would you say hamburgers are wrong if Hitler enjoyed them? That's about as much sense as that argument makes, you brain-dead worthless asshat.

ok, I have Canadian citizenship as well as American, so I know what I'm talking about when I say something similar to obamacare was being used up there and once my grandpa was in a medical prediciment, I'll say, and he had to wait 6 months for the emergency medical care he needed, because there was such a long, charge-free list of people who needed emergency care!
you people can spare some money to get healthcare, can't you?
ok, and for your other two arguemnts, I undertsnd they may have seemed very extreme to you, but stop making petty insults, because the respect that I'd had for you earlier as a logisist and arguementor just flew out the window.

Aw come on, I can't forego logic and just be rude sometimes? I only do so when that's all the people I'm talking to have done. If it's obvious they don't care about a civil debate, why try to make one?
Many of my friends live in Canada and they don't have these problems with their medical care. One of the biggest problems has always just been a shortage of doctors there, and THAT'S because so many of them move to America where they can make a hell of a lot more money. Education is cheaper up there, but the job is more lucrative down here.

aaannywaaay I know all that about Canada. I have citizen ship there, though I live here (and nonetheless, I still think it's awesome!) the only problem with this healthcare lineup is that the old are treated last, since the doctors think tending the young is much more urgent, and they end up racking up this huge waiting list! Believe me, I've seen it up close.

Obamacare mainly just changes some laws around so that people can no longer be denied health coverage for any reason; they can no longer turn you away for already being sick, or drop you, or deny you care for certain things. The problem is that this could cost the insurance providers more money than they make (people could take advantage of it) so they only agreed to comply with all this if EVERYONE got health care, ensuring them a profit.
