This one is for a Fallout: Equestria game I'm in. Bonus points if you recognize the name!

Can't stand FO:E, but love Neuromancer. Had to check this out just for the name.

You're the first pony fan (I assume?) I've met who didn't like FO:E! Well, except for one person who said it was 'too sad'. Still, to each their own!

I wouldn't have said "sad" so much as "dismally bleak," but that's more or less the point of contention. I like my ponies in technicolor, not sepia-washout filter. XD

I'm the same way! I don't like dark/grimdark at all. I started reading FO:E only because it was Fallout. And then it pulled me in with its interesting characters and fascinating story. The sneaky rascal...

A fictional, amoral, free-roaming artificial intelligence seeking self-actualization with its other half trapped within a closed Zaibatsu network in the center of an orbiting space station, and modified to be an original character within a post-apocalyptic fictional universe adapted from a game and modified to be melded with a twenty year old cartoon originally conceived for young girls.
So is she going to be the "blessed holy virgin" or just a regular horse?

Would it make it any more surreal if I mentioned that her armor is possessed by a magical AI drawn from her own psyche by unicorn magic? >.<

Only if the AI is named Tex.

And then I beat another pony to death with their own skull? While they ask "How is that even possible?!"

Yes, but only before it realizes that it is the complementary memory of another AI.
PS. In reference "beating another pony":

Wowza, I really dig that Plasma rifle and the armor. Everything looks really nice. Unfortunately I totally fail because the reference flew way over my head but I can still appreciate it for reference's sake xD

You can't exactly call yourself a sci-fi fan and now know Neuromancer.

Now now, cyberpunk is just one facet of sci-fi. One that gets sadly overlooked with the popularity of space operas and giant robots (both things I like, too).
That being said, I think the Sprawl trilogy is DEFINITELY worth a read.

Worth a read?
Gibson INVENTED the term "cyberspace." He, along with Masamune Shirow should be as much required reading as P.K. Dick, A.C. Clarke, I. Asimov and R.A. Heinlein are for geekhood.

I'm well aware. But there's no such thing as 'required reading' to be a fan of anything. Sci-fi covers a HUGE spectrum, and some people just don't like cyberpunk, in the same way that some people don't like Star Wars or GitS or Foundation.
Moreover, I've found that the more you tell someone they 'have to' read something, the less likely they are to actually read it.

True. I guess I'm just pushing 30 and feeling drunk and depressed over not grokking what all these little inane /mlp/ twits are on about and feeling the need to establish arbitrary standards in order to establish superiority.
Can you believe the little bastards don't know Tom Baker is best doctor? I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

Even watching the original series as a kid... I'd have to go with Tennant > Baker. 10 just has this ability to go from wacky goofy to deadly serious at the drop of a tie that I -really- dig. But that's just, like, my opinion, man!

This wouldn't happen to be for the fallout equestria adventure forum, would it? if so then welcome to the site. If not then can you link to the game you are a part of.

I recognize the name because a friend of mine uses that sometimes (hostname, etc). I do not, however, know what Wintermute refers to. Please, enlighten me.

Nespin got it!
It's the name of a rogue AI from the book Neuromancer. Not -evil-, just... manipulative.
