Okay, I hope you understand heads a bit more now. I thought I could do this whole tutorial in one part but NOPE. Hope it isn't too rambley and my handwriting is OKAY

OH ALSO I MAKE A TON OF SPELLING MISTAKES I switch letters around too sometimes and I don't realize it until... I'm reading it over. sorry. :' D

If anyones interested I wrote down my own art journey process. I'm self taught, over idk the last 4 years I've done the things below.

Pick up the book ‘Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain’ by Betty Edwards, it’ll improve your traditional work and your confidence…it breaks art down into more of an understandable thing, it presents theories for why/when people perceive good art and how to really look at things heh.

I highly suggest looking through the tutorials in this master post, especially under the category for ‘Human(oid) tutorials’ !

But I can’t stress enough how important this tutorial is, anatomy is BORING but you won’t regret learning the shapes, it helps a lot.

I suggest learning and practicing gesture at least a little every day (don’t be like me and practice in sporadic bursts), learn how to simplify and sketch quickly. It’s relaxing and builds confidence, and helps with proportion and anatomy!

But there are a lot of different styles of gesture, and many people do it differently so go ahead and look around.

Paying attention to and learning the boring stuff helps when you’re drawing in your own style. so that you can purposely make ‘mistakes’ in proportion and stuff to make cartoons.
