Description The Scarlet Speedster.  The Fastest Man Alive.  The Team's Speedster.  The Flash!

Another character for my DC Revised Universe (Mult 52), which as per usual takes the best element out of many versions of the characters.  In this case, for Barry Allen, he takes a lot of cues from the 2014 Flash tv series in the form of the costume and ties with STAR Labs (though that's kind of an element taken from the 1990 tv show).  But I will say his character is actually very close to his Silver Age counterpart, namely in him being more scientifically sound, being more self reliant in comparison to his CW counterpart and that Geoff Jones retcon of his origin is pretty much gone (so no dead parents).  Oh, and just like the Silver Age version of the character, the Flash identity Barry uses came from the comics of the same name he reads.  Yep, I am reinstating that whole idea that the Golden Age heroes in the DC universe are comic book characters to the main universe; and Barry Allen is a huge fanboy of such comics.

As for his story in the Justice League, he is among the 4 selected by J'onn J'onzz for the initial roster due to his metahuman powers and his close association with STAR (who are working as part of the science staff for the task force).  Barry joins the team as such alliance reminds him of the formation of the Justice Society and he want to use all of his skills and abilities to fight even greater villains who would put the world in harms way.

Credit:
The Flash is owned by DC Entertainment/Comics
Barry Allen is created by Robert Kanigher and Carmine Infantino
The background (at least the camera roll) is a stock photo so I don't have to worry about giving credit.  The logo however is definitely from DC Comics
The art is all done by by me.

Hello I am from

So from what I see, I would say the concept look really cool as using the after images effect would convey the feeling of the Flash being very fast. However, I would say there is a lot of things that can be improved, most of them being the basics of drawing.

First of all, the anatomy is off. The neck is too short, the shape of the arms and the legs can not convey the feeling that the Flash is muscular. The way the legs connect to the hips is off as the starting point for the right leg is going a bit too far to the left hip. I would really recommend studying the human anatomy and how to draw muscle correctly as I see most of your artwork revolves around super hero. Therefore knowing how to properly draw the shapes of muscle really helps with your work.

Next is the hand, the hand is hard to draw and easy to notice the mistake as we are used to identify hand gestures in our daily lives. Therefore it would be great to understand the basics method of drawing them. Right now they kinda look like sausages lol. Observe how your hand bends, and the relative position between each fingers in the 3D space.

Overall, I would say the piece has a pretty creative concept, I believe getting better at the basics of drawing can really help express the creativity of your works. Keep on drawing comrade!

Hi! I’m a random person who found this thanks to

First of all, I really like your concept and the amount of time you’ve put into this. It really shows that you were passionate about what you were drawing and you put a lot of dedication into this. I like the fact that you saturated the colors so they go together. Also, the background gave the picture some ‘oopmh’ (sorry that sounds weird) and made Barry stand out. However, I also do feel that the after effects took away a bit from your composition. I feel that if you’d used a yellow and red blur but in a brighter color instead, it would’ve made your main image stand out. But with this being one of your first images using new tools, I do have to say nice job experimenting!
Second of all, next time, I recommend browsing references for the pose so it can stand out. I use them cuz I can’t draw but they make great inspirations!
sorry if this was long, I kinda wanted to convey my point so it ended up dragging out
anyway great job and I can’t wait to see what awaits you in the future!

Thanks.  I agree that I should of brighten the blur a bit more.  As for references, well, majority of this drawing was based on a modified preset pose I used on Magic Poser.  In fact a lot of my recent drawings are based on poses from that program.  So I basically have some references.

I’m actually really proud of how this art turn out as it is my first time using tools like smudge to obtain that motion effect.

Yeah GIMP has a feature like motion blur, but I got a better result with the smudge tool.
