Description
My color final for class. An unidentified grasshopper specimen that I borrowed from my friend ([link] ) which he got in Costa Rica. (If anyone has a guess or a direction for me to go to it out I'd appreciate it.)It's due on Thursday, so I may try to do a few more smaller ones like this for my final.
Watercolor and gouache- 9 hours.

Oh lovely! The abdominal segments are particularly nicely done.
As to identification, I would guess it's in Ensifera, but I don't know beyond that. If you're really curious, we have an expert on Orthoptera at CU who leads grad student expeditions to Costa Rica - he might know what it is.
