Who'd have thought I could go without being trackside for a full eight months? Well, that was the situation until last weekend, when I hit Eastern Creek for the Shannons Nationals.It turned out to be an event a little lacking in decent racing, being more of a crashfest. Thankfully the Australian GT Championship drivers were a tad circumspect and didn't end up with too many bent panels.
I know GT racing isn't quite as exciting as the bump 'n' grind of touring cars but I'm still drawn to them for the sheer spectacle and the variety of machinery on track, as perfectly witnessed here...

Hehe... yeah, the GT pack is fairly awesome. That's why, even though the racing doesn't feature much BTCC-style paint-swapping, I still love it: the sheer variety of machinery on the grid...

I'm not used to so much paint swapping actually, i guess that in america people don't race as harsh as in europe and oceania (is that right? called oceanΓa in spanish

Well North America has NASTYCAR and that features plenty of spills. I think something needs to be done about some of it but otherwise it's fairly tame compared to the BTCC. We're seeing a little more push and shove in V8s this year but it's still frowned upon...

Okay, so you really don't like it then. I still support Monty, even if he's a wasted talent there. And it's great to see Marcos doing well in a few races - give it time and he'll be among the frontrunners every weekend. That's about where my interest stops...

Hehe... that might be the case elsewhere in the world but here in Oz it's very much down to the drivers and the Lambo drivers seem to be a little better than most of the others in the GT pack. Only two Porsches really stand in the way...
