Description
This started out as a rejected test piece for a requested black on white map, but it needs a finer pen to work in that way, but I thought it would be interesting with some very simple greys added. The hardest thing with cut-aways is what to do with partial or invisible walls. I think next time I'll just not draw any outside walls where the outside is facing the viewer (if that makes sense), as opposed to cut-away corners and triangles.
Learning process etc.
Pen on A4 isometric paper, contrast and colours added in GIMP on a PC.
(Apologies for the watermark but if I get hard up for cash I might start selling it DriveThru in a stock-art bundle
Thanks for looking.

Looks great! I agrre with idea of cutting away the outer walls. I like the idea of them, though. I think I would have done it the same way you did if I was to draw an isometric dungeon for the first time. With no outer walls it might have ended up a bit more "generic". But I guess your great style and sense of detail will counter that. You can change the pen to a thinner one, but I kind of like the rough look. I like the feeling of the hand drawn map. Too much work today loose the "soul" of the idea by getting cleaned way to much up in PS. Keep up the good work! I look forward to seeing your next project!

Yup. Since this I went out and bought some more 005s in the Millenium pen range. No matter how well I draw fine details I still worry about the fact that people can zoom right on a computer. Thanks for commenting. Hope you're well.

I'd agree with not drawing outside walls for the three cube-sides that are facing. I'd also agree with using a thinner pen for something of this level of detail. Nice to see what you're up to though!
