Description At night, species that normally live at greater depths rise toward the surface to feed on the abundant microscopic life of the normally sunlit water. Most common among them are the Kep (Apertum pandema) and Night Goti (Apertum pandema) which feed almost exclusively on the plankton. The most impressive of the nocturnal travellers is the Giant Fanfin (Amplitalienus magnificens), the species is much larger than any other of the group, adapted to feed on plankton as well as any and all small animals it comes across. Bigeye Prolus (Marinae opthalmos) are also counted as members of this mobile ecosystem, though they return to the surface more often to breathe.

if a nautilus and a vamproteuthis had a kid, and that kid grew up to be a cool superhero...you've just drawn that kid all grown up.

Were you inspired by ammonites? Because I'm getting a very ammonit-y feel from the Giant Fanfin

Actually, I was thinking more of Seahorses and Ocean Sunfish when I designed the Fanfins; the resemblance is coincidental.

that nearly circular creature looks really cool! quite possibly one of the most innovative alien creature concepts i have seen so far! very unorthodox!
