Description
Venus Flytraps, or Dionaea muscipulaSterling silver sheet and wire, of various thicknesses, a garnet, and a lot of hammering.
Some versimilitude has been sacrificied in favour of making construction easier, though this isn't really noticeable to anyone unless they're familiar with the plants themselves.

I have a silver ring with a round garnet in it that matches this perfectly. Very impressive, very cool. I like it lots!

Awesome! I'm second year, myself. I see you're from australia. Would you, by some chance, be attending SCAD?

I only ask because I was looking at an exchange program to attend SCAD awhile back. I go to ACAD myself.

I wouldn't want to be backhanded with this thing though.

Yeah, it's definatley a ring for kicking ass. those teeth tore my fingers to shreds while I was building this.

Could be. I just drew bug wings until I came up with an arrangement I liked.

Thanks!
Unfotunatley, I think even if this thing weren't sized to fit the world's fattest finger, it wouldn't be very functional. The teeth on the traps are like frigging razors.

This is so great! I especially enjoy the extreme attention to detail on the fly-traps. (They look deadly!) The insect makes a wonderful accent and I think the garnet adds just the right amount of color. And also, way to take unfavorabe assignment and turn it into something completely unique.

Thanks! The traps themselves are actually quite sharp. (I still have a few small scars on my hands)Also, I think I reserve a special kind of dislike for h-rings.

I find them quite ugly, to be frank. (Well, I'm sure they're not all bad, but the pattern I had to work from was just godawful.)

this is just...beautiful. I love the detail in the fly traps themselves, and the added beauty of the little bug with the jewel...I can't see anything that I don't like about this. If I was given this as a gift it would take pride of place on my shelf

It's a ring, right?
