Description I am a human being.

I am a family member and a friend.

I am an American.

I am a progressive thinker.

My first dedication in my life is to my humanity. I believe that as a human, I have the responsibility to watch over and help my fellow humans. Also, I believe that I have a duty to protect the environment and to care for any living organisms that reside on this wonderful planet. My humanity helps shape my dedication toward everyone and everything else in my life. Being a human in my eyes is living to better the world and to help the people that make living on this planet so interesting.

Next I am dedicated to my family and friends. I am an only child, who was brought up primarily by my mother, father, and God-father. They brought me up to be a just, trust worthy, headstrong individual; who is always in the pursuit of truth and justice. My friends are as much a part of my family as those who share my bloodline.  As it is I do not believe that one’s family is or should be constrained by bloodline. My good friends have become my brothers and my sisters. Because of my whole “family”, I am the person I am today and for that I am perpetually grateful.

My third dedication is to my country. I am proud to be lucky enough to be a citizen of this great nation. I believe in America. I believe in the American people. This nation in its short history of existence has shined as an example of a well organized nation of diversity; which many other nations have tried to emulate. I do disagree with governmental policy at time. I do voice my opinion even when my opinion is labeled “unpatriotic”. But I would be doing my nation an injustice and I believe I would truly be “unpatriotic” if I did not open my mouth when I believe that my nation is heading in the wrong direction. Too many men and women have died for me to remain silent when I believe an elected official is abusing the authority that those brave people fought so hard to defend. Our nation was built on people who spoke out when they felt they were being mistreated and to this day I believe the truly patriotic thing to do, even if it is unpopular, is to speak out and make your voice heard (peacefully) when you believe that there is an abuse of authority, mistreatment, or misdirection.

Lastly I am dedicated to a progressive ideal. This is a fairly new concept. Prior to the term “progressive”, people like myself were primarily labeled liberals. The term liberal does suit some of my ideals, but I truly believe that most of my ideals are based on the idea of progression. The major problem with me comes in the fact that I do have conservative beliefs at times as well. In the political world, I would be labeled a moderate. However, many of my ideals, such as legalizing same-sex marriage, in today’s age are far from moderate. I believe things such as gay rights are things of progress, not liberalism. In the end I just want what I believe is right for ALL the citizens of this great nation. I would like to believe that America is not a land of fear of progress; but a land of adaptation, tolerance, and understanding. This is what I think our founding fathers truly wanted. I think they saw the potential of this nation to be the standard on which other nations base their own progress.

In conclusion, I am man who speaks more through actions than words. It is a duty of all Americans, especially those 18 and over to be an active and contributing part of society. Whether it be through starting a business, getting politically active, making music that people can related with, fighting for the environment, or any of the many things that  can contribute to a better nation and world. So don’t sit there, read, write, speak, and act.

Thanks and take care,

Bionic

oh yeah, just been on your site. seems you speak your mind too! i have to say, im against gay marriage though, dont get me wrong, im all for them having a ceremony declaring their love for eachother but not marriage as such. marriage is supposed to be a man and a woman joining as one in the eyes of god, if god is against the act of homosexuality then isnt getting married kinda disrespecting the religions beliefs? just a thought...

I respect your opinion on the gay marriage issue. I personally believe that religion and politics should never be mixed and don't really think that God, well the God that I was brought up to believe in would ever be against anything that he created. As I see it homosexuality is not a choice, it's who you are, there for making homosexuality a creation of God, not humans. Besides organized religions, are for the most part founded on books. Books which humans wrote. If anything could be said that would have more fundamental backing, it could be that humans created religion.

But in the end it is all based on faith and belief. And who am I to say that another person's faith or belief is wrong. I just share a different opinion. The question I would pose in defense of gay marriage would be this: If you took religion out of the question and make it a purely political issue; would you be effect or affect in any way (outside of possibly being offended), if two men or two women were married?

thanks again.

when you say you dont think religion and politics should mix, thats ridiculous! religion is part of peoples lives you cant just avoid it, even in politics. where ever you go, you're gonna find some sort of religion, you cant just blank it out when making big decisions that will affect everyones lives including those of christians, muslims, jews and all the others. everyone is so used to celebrating christmas and easter that theyve forgotten that it is actually a christian festival and theres a reason why people do the thingst they do around that time of year. its the same with marriage, people, including non-christians seem to just be pushing the religious reasons behind the act aside rather than remembering the only reason theyre doing it is because of the religion! why even consider changing peoples beliefs just so it suits modern society? by all means show your love for eachother but dont do it by fixing what isnt broken!
i do agree that homosexuality is a creation of god though, he made us so he must have put it there. but he also put temptation, anger and selfishness in us. hes not saying dont feel these things, that would just be stupid seeing as he made us that way. im slightly confused on that point, i dont know why he is actually agianst the act of homosexuality but he counts it as a sin so thats part of the faith which people just wont except.
now im off to check out your music, see ya

Well this seems to be a subject you and I don't exactly see eye to eye on and that's perfectly alright. All of the politics and religion aside however, I would re-look your last portion of the comment. You said that God created homosexuality, and yet you believe it would be a sin. Why would a just and righteous God create a person who is bound for sin? Why would he create someone who is connected with someone of the same sex and make that a sin? Frankly it makes no sense. Bottom line is that the bible was created by humans who have feelings and beliefs that are very really compromised. If the people writing the bible were under the belief that it was dirty, than of course they would make it a sin....not necessarily God.

Thanks for checking out the music, I really appreciate it. Have a great day and hope to her from you soon.

well firstly, people did write the bible but only because god himself was unable to. he worked through people to write down what he wanted them to write, so technically if you put it into modern terms, the people were his word processer and he was te typist if that makes any sense.
hey im afraid your gonna have to ask god about the whole sin thing, just dont forget that satan exists too, hes the one thats evil remember. everything bad nt he world doesnt just happen because of god.
also i personally dont think its a sin, how two people express their love for one another is totally up to them, i just dont think they should be married rather than a union ceremony or whatever they call it because its disrespecting that religions beliefs.
well its been fun debating with you but i doubt ill ever make you change your mind, you're just too opinionated!, see ya

Here here!! What a well worded and uplifting piece of work.
'In the end I just want what I believe is right for ALL the citizens of this great nation.' Sums it up completely.

Yours truly, the correction princess. xx
