You could make some skies and put them in the background. In this case for example there are no reflections in water or so that need special attention. I assume you are working with Worldmachine and maybe Vue!?

ho yes! sometimes i use this technic too, (real sky photo on te background)
yes i m working with vue and recently with WM
i use blender too for the 3D objects and textures
and photoshop for create texture and postwork

You are welcome. Happy rendering. If you use Vue Infinite or Xstream 11 or higher there is something that could be interesting to you. Quadspinner has released a Vue Plugin called HELIOS. It's for Cloud-editing and -rendering, which makes clouds much more realistic and faster too. I myself am stuck with Vue 10 for the moment, so I am a little bit disappointed because I can't use Helios so far.

There will be Helios Apprentice for 99 bucks. Not too shabby for better cloud-rendering, I think.

Really excellent work! Terrain and textures are perfect...model scale is bang on...and the lighting is totally cinematic!
