Description
Again our favourite man-turning-octopuss, Billy. This time it's his 50%Because octopuss don't have any bones he's losing his, which means at this stage his bone structure is too fragile to support him, thus the crutches
I'm not really sure how he managed to get in that situation, but I have a theory that his tentacles accidentaly got in the way. And has for the black splutter in front of him, yeah he can spit ink!
I had a chance to try a lot of new things with this work. Mostly it was the ability to change the colors of the outlines to give a more "squishy" sensation to the skin, the filter to create that splosh sensation of the ink and the mix between cell and soft shading for the rubbery feeling
I'm going to post the several steps in the scraps, just out of curiosity

I just have a feeling like the ink wouldn't be on top of his foretentacles... ooh, new word. I mean like I'm seeing him fall down in my mind, and as his brain is registering "I'm about to fall flat on my face" then his ink-spit reflex is getting ready, then when he finally makes contact and his jaw strikes the floor then SPLATT! and maybe a nasty word after the ink, followed by his tentacles coming in on the follow-through and striking the ground a second after he did. Which would put the foretentacles on top of the ink splatter, but not getting ink spat on them.

Or he could had tried to use them to stop him from falling, but because the bones are no longer strong enough and the muscles are being reshapen, they couldn't stop the impact, which caused him to splutter the ink unvoluntarily
Personally I think it makes much more sense the arms reaching the ground first to prevent the head from hitting it (which it didn't happen here)

Ah... Didn't think about him perhaps trying to catch himself with his other tentacles. Maybe a leg or two with his forearms in front, then curled inward when he failed to stop himself and then getting ink all over them. I see.
