Encore un montage pour le concours "Interstella 5555" de 2003. Les Crescendolls sont le groupe de rock extra-terrestre imaginaire, héros du film. J'ai repris les visuels des personnages dessinés par le studio de Leiji Matsumoto et les ai intégrés à une couverture type de Time Magazine, en insérant la date du 27 avril 5555 dans le coin supérieur (le film est sorti le 27 avril 2003 en France).Yet another montage I did for the "Interstella 5555" contest in 2003. The Crescendolls are the heroes of the movie, an imaginary rock band from a distant planet. I reused the visuals from the Leiji Matsumoto studio and inserted them in a typical Time Magazine cover template, inserting the date April 27, 5555 in the top corner (the movie came out on April 27, 2003 in France).

Heh... I visited Japan last month and had the great honor of spending an evening talking with Matsumoto at his home (I'm on the left). During the course of a 3 hour long interview he mentioned that he was interested in meeting foreigners who liked his work, and recalled how some years ago two nice young French men visited and told him that he was their childhood hero, and begged to work on a video of their music with him. It was, of course, Daft Punk! And Matsumoto mentioned that they weren't wearing their masks then!

Wow! This is amazing! Congratulations for getting close to the man himself. A tough act apparently... He was supposed to come for a Japanimation convention in Paris in 2003 but was apparently scared by stories of the avian flu, so he sent a videotaped interview instead! I once was the creator/webmaster of the site ARCADIA 2000, which was considered between 2000 and 2003 as THE reference site on Leiji. But it was just way too much work, so I stopped. OMG! I loved this
Interstella 5555 is amazing! I wached the animation 10 times and I listen the musics everytime.
Because of this animation I became a fan of Matsumoto and, principally, Daft Punk.
