The Dagger of 1,000 sorrows.

It all started on the eve of a grand marriage between a Prince and his love, a noblewoman from a neighboring kingdom. At that night the marriage was to be consumated but the noblewoman would have none of the advanced of her arranged husband. Angered by being turned down from what is rightfully his the Prince struck the woman and stormed from the chamber to seek relief at his favorite watering hole. The noblewoman sat upon the ground in disbelief that she had been struck and when she regained her composure she left to seek solace in the church temple. On the temples altar was a dagger, used in only the holiest of ceremonies none dare touch it, except for that pained woman. After rising from her prayers and seeing the answer sitting before her she garbbed the dagger from its rest. She then went and found her dear and loving husband in the bed of another woman at the inn and proceeded to kill him and the harlot with the holy dagger.

During the act an unholy scream erupted, not from the lips of those being slaughtered or from the woman but from the blood stained blade itself. The act of vengeance, anger and betrayal twisted the holy artifact into a monstrous and hideous thing craving the blood of others. To this day the noblewoman staggers around nothing more then a mere undead puppet seeking the blood of the betrayers, the abusers and those who seek lust rather then love.

Thousands have died upon its twisted blade, and thousands more are need to quench its thirst.
