Description My parents were involved in the struggle for civil rights.
They would put on a program of drama, poetry and music called:
"A Glimpse Into the Heart of A Black Man"

When I was 3 years old, the first song that I sang on stage
during this program was called: "What Color is God's Skin"

The chorus went like this:

"What color is God's skin?
What color is God's skin
Is it black, brown or yellow,
is it red is it white?
Every man's the same in the good Lord's sight!"

(The man whose photo was used for this goes by the nickname of 5twenty9)

This is REAL - makes u think about life in a big way. In the end we all bleed the same color.

I really ...really love this...
Looking at this and reading what lead you to this piece makes me seriously question my own ways and actions...
We are all given the gifts we posess for a purpose... but its up to us to determine what we do with it...
thank you.. not just for the inspiration of creating great work.. but the inspiration to take art in a positive direction...

That is a great compliment, brother. Thank you.
I feel blessed to have had the parents I have. I haven't always made them proud, but God always leads me back to their teachings- and I've been questioning my own ways and actions lately. I do believe that we are given our gifts for a reason. Perhaps that purpose is to uplift humanity and glorify the Creator. Thank you for the too. Your words were an inspiration.

If I was an art critic I'd say this was a very important work.

I'm not though, happily, so can just say it's powerful and beauiful and I'm sure it touches a lot of people - me included.

Really? Thank you, dear one.
I really wanted to do much more with this concept. I'm very pleased that you were touched.

Absolutely really.

Maybe sometimes less is more.....conceptually, can you ever do enough, with such a deep subject?......but what you did - the combination of words and illustration, kept a basic truth simple, while providing an image that evoked a beautiful combination of earthly reality and ethereal mystique.

Thanks.

I'm doing pretty good, thank you for asking....got a day off tomorrow

Going to look after my little furry feline nephews for a few days from Sunday. Will be nice to be sat on, woken up my fur in my face, purring in my ear, etc.

How are things with you?

Everything about this speaks to me. I really hope to get up there with you. The way you blended the photos.A woman, man, child, some different nationalities, but to many to overload the essence of the work. Forgive me if I am wrong in my evaluation of the symbolism, but this is phenomenal. Going on my favorites.
