Description before
the waking hour
in the clouds
at dawn
somewhere between
skeleton
and prison,

truth stands
on 4 legs
in black and white sunrise.

__________

This is a neutral color remix of an earlier deviation I did. [link]

I wanted to offer it as a print, but had not saved a .psd of the original version. So, instead I tweaked it a bit to my liking. So....behold the zebra....neutralized!

How did you do this?? (the blurring not the colour)
Very very cool!

i duplicated the picture, did an extreme blur on the duplicate, applied a layer mask, and used the paintbrush to 'aint' back in the original pic layer. Thanks!

Hi, this is webmyrcury's mom, browsing deviant art....I AM NOT IN ANY WAY AN ARTIST., however, this really appeals to me. Almost a wakeup call for possible extinction? At least, in my non-art eyes, it could be. You do fantastic stuff! I look forward to seeing new additions!

Hi webmyrcury's mom.
I really like your interpretation. I wish I would have thought of that myself. Instead, I looked at it after it was done and saw something that at once reminded me of prison bars and a skeleton. Perhaps one day it will come to me why that imagery came to mind. Thank you for your kind words and for giving my work a look. You're welcome to visit anytime!

This is beautiful... the colour, the line, the aesthetics... this is what photomanipulation is supposed to be! Truly great work.

the poem is the perfect accompaniment to the shot... or is it the shot that is the accompaniment? Or are they simply two halves of one? Hmm...

BitterGrapes In reply to CatchMe-22 [2007-05-03 06:33:23 +0000 UTC]

Dope blendwork fam!
Im feelin the poem.. and I think this version compliments it more with the yellow and orange tones.
plus the way the definition of the white stripes fades into the cloudiness really gives the zebra a skeleton feel
