Also, in the event you read this and get back to me- your work is utterly breathtaking. Do you find that you create your amazing images through tons of painstaking work (all brushstrokes), alone? Or do you use a lot of time-savers, and you've mastered the art of not wasting time on effects that can be replicated by photoshop (layers, effects, tools) in three seconds? (I'm finding more and more that there are smarter ways of doing the hard work I've been pounding into my pieces. Shortcuts are key.)

Or do you use a lot of time-savers In my experience, there aren't too many time-savers worth the hassle. It's usually better to just do it the straightforward way. I mean, take fur-brushes for example: they will make passable fur if you use them properly but if you want great fur or amazing fur, you're going to have to do it the hard way. Generally, I avoid shortcuts not because I have anything against shortcuts, but because they aren't as efficient as people think they are (if you wind up having to go back and redo it because it is mediocre) and they sometimes seem cheap.

the fur and its color scheme has mystical affinity with the general setting. the fur detail is amazing as well. i like the hands alot, they are very close to perfection. but im more intrugued by the eyes. is there a tutorial or a tip you could give me to attain this effect?

indeed it is. honestly though, i dont like my first name that much. it feel like nothing special. but this picture kinda make it feel significant a little bit. even the king darius of persia lost his first war.... sad

I've just always been obsessively fanatical about eyes. XD I wish I could say "Here be a tutorial...You now know how to do eyes like I do." XD But I never learned it from any one tutorial or source.
The key pieces of information I can tell you is to consider that the iris usually appears like a concave dish that sits within the eye-sphere and light will tend to collect in the bottom of the iris while the top will tend to be in shadow (depending on where light is coming from.) But because of the cornea, the highlight will sit on the shadowed area. Hhhrrrmmmmmm. Maybe I should make a tut. XD

you should totally do a tutorial! i think i get what you're saying about the eye. i could try again to practice coloring the eye. i would really like to do those microscopic fibers in the iris though
