Description
I shot this on my way to northern Europe's largest waterfall, Mardalsfossen. The landscapes through the valleys had a rather captivating effect on me.Darkroom involves a tad of bleaching/desaturation to enhance the effect of the barren landscape.

I just can't find the right words to say how beautiful this picture is.. The calmness of the sky and that pond is so wonderful and soft. Those rocks are total opposite for the water and sky...

Brilliant photo and the Daily Deviation is much deserved.
The Photoshop post-work gives the landscape a barren appearance...very gloomy and desolate.

Not extremely high, but about 3000 feet over sea level where I was standing in this picture I think. The elevations in the distance are a little higher of course.

Please remember that it's in the darkroom category for a reason. But anyway, the sky was not separated from the post process; The colors on the entire photo was bleached to make the contrast stand out, then it was desaturated about 60% (If I remember correctly). The bleaching process made the sky more intense and gradient, but the place was high up in the mountains, the air was thin and the sun was strong, so the sky was naturally smooth, gradient and clear right from the start this day.
