This just sucked. Kat by far had the crappiest death in the whole game.Related content

I managed to take a look at the shooter. It was an Elite, Field Marshall class, the one that got away back at the communications outpost.

i think the Needle Rifle who killed Kat, was a Prototype from the Beam Rifle ^^

Just look at their deaths, Jorge sacrifices himself thinking he is saving reach, Carter sacrifices himself to destroy the scarab and help get the package to the pillar of autumn, Jun dies by sacrificing himself to save Halsey after they get off reach, (In books), Six gets killed by like five or six high level elites, Emile dies after first getting stabbed by an elite, killing that elite and then getting killed and both killing an elite, both zealot level. Then Kat just gets sniped in the back of the head after a nuke goes off. Seriously thats uncool. Only crappy part in the campaign is the way Kat dies.

because i didn't spoil halo reach for myself i had no idea this was gonna happen and when it did i actually died a little inside, kay was my favourite spartan, and to die in that way.. it just sucked

While her death was alittle lame, I'm just glad it gave me the rage to blow those Covie basterds to hell with the Tank next level.

She could have died similarly to the death portrayed in the trailer (Deliver Hope),
But no, I guess a needle round through the temple was just SO much better,
And they weren't even in combat when she died!

nope. its never Carter. Nobile Six is the one who catches Kat as she falls. carter is seen later carrying Kat, but that's it.

I don't know why a single NR shot killed a fully shielded Spartan.

Her shields were off or something when they shot her. I read that somewhere.

she wasn't shielded. She has SPI armor, and it takes time to boot shields since she just put her helmet on. also remember there was electrical/radiation interference which could have played a part.
