Description
Okay. For those out there who have seen the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, you will notice this is one of the Arcee triplettes, or as she is dubbed on the toy package, Chromia. Don't know why, I just love this toy. Like my roomy, I took her and did her up with a little paint. Not sure if you can tell from these shots though. Not finished though, (just like the rest of my work). Still got some work to do on it. When I can find them, I'll be snagging up the so called "Moonracer" and Arcee toys when I see them.

Oh SNAP! I wish I had this kind of "painting my action figure skill"! (You should have seen me when I was younger... using acrylics of all things... bleh...)

I use Acrylic model paints exclusively. Mostly Tamiya Color, Testors Model Master, and Pactra Racing Finish. Enamel can damage styrene and ABS, it also doesn't cure on polyurethane, vinyl, or other soft plastics.

Thanks for the tips! If I ever get around to action figure modding again, I'll definitely have to look into those paints.

My first one too. My roomy is more into it then I am, though. I just need to get off my rear and finish her up.

If you're open to suggestions, The first thing I did with my Chromia figure is disassemble the head, remove the optics and strip the light blue paint off of them with Tamiya Color X-20A acrylic paint thinner so that the light piping would work again. I then repainted that whole piece with Tamiya Color X-23 Clear Blue to give her blue light piped optics.

I've seen it. It's not bad, but I don't like the fact that his alterations made the figure non-transformable. I've done several kitbashes, repaints, and scratch-builds, and always design them with full transformability taken into account. It's goo to know that the Sideswipe head fits on the Chromia body, (and presumable vice-versa). It does open up other potential for the left over head and body for making a female car bot.

I thought the same. I've wanted to do something with the Sideways figure myself, it's just the figure wasn't what I was expecting. I was hoping for something better.

Sideways? The Decepticon Sideswipe bisected? I'm not sure if the fembot head will fit on that figure.

Not to use Chromia's head, just try something different with another figure's. Just haven't found one yet.
Currently waiting for the Jolt figure to come out so I can see how his transformation looks.

Not bad so far. It'll be cool to see it finished. FYI, they finally named the third sister and it is definitely not Moonracer (which is trademarked by Rankin Bass). Hasbro named the third sister Flareup.
