Not much was known of Trista when she met Nyu and Shinsa. She was living in the slums of an old farmland. In an attempt to put her out of her miserable existence, Nyu and Shinsa (mostly Nyu) attempted to inflate and pop her, but it was here she discovered her ability to switch bodies, and Nyu popped instead (but thanks to Trista administering Shisna's regenerative potion, she didn’t die). Trista did not know of this power before and thus was taken with Shinsa to find out how to get her back, once Nyu reformed. Trista was forgiven for it since she did save Nyu and Trista has been with the demigirls since.
Trista has the ability to switch bodies with someone, but eventually gains so much control over it, she can even change clothes, colors, or even both. This can cause quite a bit of confusion among people she doesn't like, or when she just wants to have fun, but she rarely does that.
