With this many pilots, I can imagine the amount of machines in a race to go up from 30 to 40. Probably not though. Maybe if a new F-Zero did come out, we probably might see some new original characters.

New Characters are actually the least requested thing I've seen on numerous forums. We do currently have 41 canon Characters & Machines, 15 spin-off Characters & Machines who some would like an appearance in a title. It's far more than any other racer or most games really in terms of your usual roster size.
30 per race is already gimmicky enough, there are plenty of people who find it ridiculous, 40 would be overkill imo. Just have some racers who are more likely to appear at certain difficulties, like Black Shadow & Deathborn would rarely appear in Novice or Standard but in Expert or Master they'll want to tear you apart.
Plus there's plenty of people who want Alternate machines for the standard Characters as well.

The 40 racers thing was just a thought. I know it'll never happen. I can understand why people would even consider 30 ridiculous, but for me it just makes it more satisfying finishing in the lead. I figured that's probably one of the reasons why I never get bored doing GP's.
Also, I recently started playing BS F-Zero 2 on an emulator and I thought it would be cool if the machines in there could probably be alternate machines for the original 4 or maybe even be used to introduce 4 new pilots into the series. Or maybe alternate costumes like Falcon, Goroh, and Jody had in the F-Zero X expansion.

The BS F-Zero pilots are the original 4 btw. The BS game was just an update of the original game.
So the Blue Thunder(Which I see becoming the Neo Blue Falcon), Luna Bomber, Green Amazone, & Fire Scorpion going to their respective pilots.
I can see Jody getting the Super Cat from the expansion kit as her alt. (Lowerd stats of course), along with Mighty Gazelle, Princia & Phoenix, Zoda, Blood Falcon, & Deathborn & Black Shadow getting ones themselves.

That'd be pretty sweet. I think everyone should have alternate costumes or something as well.
