Description McNuggets, the Shiney Pidgey has joined the party... No, seriously, the first wild pokemon encountered on the first route in the game, was a shiney Pidgey.

She may be Shiny, but she's still subject to the same rules as everyone else.
… Which Means the Nuzlocke is even RISKIER for her! D8

Lucky... For now.
Should she FAINT, she won't get any special treatment, it's the ol' Release button.

A shiny pidgey! So cool. Only shiny I have in Soul Silver is the gyrados. But in my others... Different story.

Same rules apply to her, if she faints, she's gonna get released. 8C

I'm pretty sure It's against the rules to lie about what type of Pokemon you got in a Nuzlocke.

Selene from Angel-Heart89's comics is a fakemon and only plays a part in the Nuzlocke story, so she doesn't count.

It's a COMIC good sir ! Even if it is not true, does it really even matter?
But besides, finding a shiny also matters in luck as well, for example I hatched a shiny vastly on the sixth egg I had gotten in alpha sapphire.

blackwing2 In reply to Arthas972 [2014-10-19 02:01:26 +0000 UTC]

... I didn't lie though, the PokΓ©mon I first encountered on that route was a Shiny female Pidgey, who I nicknamed 'McNuggets'. 83

Fine, I'm convinced. Β But you must admit the very suggestion sounds like bullshit. Β Shinies are extremely rare, and the odds of your first encounter with a certain species being shiny are academically extremely improbable. Β And the odds of your first encounter PERIOD being shiny? Β Don't even get me started. Β So yeah, that's the basis of my claim.

I can understand where you're coming from, really, if the shoe was on the other foot, I'd have doubts myself... But the fact is, she WAS the first PokΓ©mon of the first route In the game, if she WASN'T, she wouldn't have even got a spot in the comic, I would'veΒ simply migrated her to the safety of the other games. XD

If you have X or Y, you could try using the Friend Safari, so far I've found 4 Shiny PokΓ©mon in there and it appears that the Shiny rate in there is higher in general :3

Double edged sword situation here, Sure, she's shiny, but if sheΒ faints i'll release her... I know she's a shiny and most people would just migrate her if she fainted, but not me, I'm stickin' to those two rules. 83

Le sigh. The points of a Nuzlocke that one follows. It's just a shiny...but it is a shiny still. Hopefully she don't die anytime soon.

you know you can cattch shinies whenever you see then its the one nuzlocke loophole

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

blackwing2 In reply to gliscor1 [2013-10-07 00:15:19 +0000 UTC]

Maybe, but there won't be any special treatment, if she faints, gotta release her.

I don't use the watered down 'Perminantly box' version of the second Nuzlocke rule, not even for a shiney.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

gliscor1 In reply to blackwing2 [2013-10-07 03:59:38 +0000 UTC]

nah premeninantly boxed is good that way everytime someone dies you put them in the same box and you see all of your old mons and get really depprsed Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

blackwing2 In reply to gliscor1 [2013-10-07 12:00:51 +0000 UTC]

The two rules are 'You may only catch the first pokemon you see on a route' and 'If a pokemon faints, it's dead and has to be released'.

I can understand the appeal to justΒ slightly alterΒ the second rule, especially for people who don't want to see all that time training them up go down the toilet, but i'm not playing a Nuzlocke run to play it by 'just slightly altered' rules, i'm playing it for fun by the two REAL rules! 83

I don't know, but the same rules apply even if she's a shiny. If she faints, i'll have to release her!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheNintendoKid12 In reply to blackwing2 [2013-08-31 21:33:52 +0000 UTC]

No, I mean with people who find shinnies. Because almost everyone that I know who's found a shiny in the wild always use repels (Keyword: Almost), while the only good thing that has happened to me while not using repels is getting Pokerus.

... And the same rules apply, if she faints, *Poof* Released.

Only downside, if she faints, *Poof* Gotta release her! No trading away to safety, no 'Permabox', i'm sticking with the first two rules, andΒ them's the rules! :3

TheDannyMan [2013-07-29 11:00:14 +0000 UTC]

You went through the frikkin' intro without any wild encounters, making that Pidgey your first PokΓ©mon encounter. And it's a FRIKKIN' SHINY?

I want your luck.

I don't know why, but in a LOT of Nuzlocke runs, it seems that people find a Shiny in the early routes!... Maybe the challenge has that added effect! XD

She's done well so far, but if she faints, i'll release her, that's the rules after all.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

cyclone8462 In reply to blackwing2 [2013-01-14 09:56:03 +0000 UTC]

well, that part of the rules can be changed. I mean, a lot of people just keep them in a box specifically to keep "dead" Pokemon in, so after you've finished your Nuzlocke, you can go back to training them!
