I'm aware of that, but not me, i took the challenge with the original two rules, and i'm gonna stick with them, so if she faints, she WILL be released, dispite being a shiny.

That seems to be a thing going on, when you enter a route on a Nuzlocke, the chances seem to INCREESE for finding a shiney... Who knows why.

That happened to me too in the Viridian forest on FR, first thing was a shiny weedle

the momerable thing about her isn't that she was a first encounter, rather that it was 2 years ago on the last day of summer.

wow , same with em in black , but i caught a patrat on the route , then i was training for 30 minutes to be beefed up for the first N fihgt , then i saw it , a SHINY FREAKING PATRAT! At first i screamed (because the last shiny i saw blew up aka Gravler on diamond) i caught her and replaced my regular patrat with her and shes a kick butt Watchog

It's strange, it's like Shiny's are prone to coming out earlier in the game than you'd thaught, but when you're searching for them later, they just never show, like some warning to new trainers:
'Hey, by the way, we've got different colours than the rest, oh what's that? you havn't stocked up on pokeballs yet? oh, too bad, well, see ya!'

Most people would, i had to literally stop playing mid-battle, load up the internet and check if i was seeing things... I wasn't...

I will admit, you have some impressive luck. I'm running a semi-Nuzlocke on Emerald (rules are the same, but the "one Pokemon" doesn't have to be the first one you see), and my starter was a Torchic... a FEMALE Torchic. I've NEVER started with a female starter before. And you get a female Totodile and a Shiny Pidgey... maybe the challenge increases the challenger's luck?
But I've also lost three valuable Pokemon, including my only Psychic-type, and haven't even beaten the third Gym. Picking and choosing what you catch doesn't take away from the fact that if your Pokemon faints, that's it.

Thanks, but if i'm so lucky, how come i can't seem to find a Geodude? Maybe you're right, maybe it DOES increase your chances a little, or maybe there's hidden bug in the game where if you catch a pokemon from each route you've been, the odds of finding rarer pokemon increases.
Nah, i'm good, i'm playing by the only two official rules, 'Fainting = Death, and thus must be released' and 'Only catch the first encounter in the area', it may be an inconvenience, but once i start something, i see it through to the end the way it was started.

Yeah, I wondered that too. The game is probably just trying to tease you with female starters and shinies.
