It's good animation but it's very basic. I would consider it the "first draft" of something like what does. That doesn't make it bad, but I've certainly seen better animation of this kind.

This'd be a lot better if:

Sonic rotated to match the elevation of the surface a bit more

The surface had some detail or depth to it.

Otherwise, you clearly know what you're doing and future stuff will only be better.
