I've been focusing a lot on writing these days, hence the lack of recent comics. I'm finishing up my booky book, and I've also been working on some short stories and things. Exciting times!Everybody tells you that rejection is part of the process, that it's unavoidable. That's absolutely true, but as ready as you think you are, as much as you prepare yourself for it, it still FUCKING SUCKS.
So I had a self-pity party for like 24 hours, and then I realized that I was still alive and the world didn't end, so I stopped being such a punk and got up and decided to try again. We are currently still in the "trying" part of the publishing process, but I figure as long as I at least keep doing work I'm proud of, I'm not a total failure. Cuz then it's like, at least I have one fan...right?
Wait, does that sound sad?

Thanks man, that really means so much. I'll never give up doing this stuff because it means too much me, and that it actually connects with others even if it's only in a small way is one of the best feelings I've ever experienced. Sorry for getting sentimental, but it's the truth!

Nah, doesn't sound sad. If you can't love your work, no one else will...and even if they don't at least you love it and you are the most important person in your life

Thanks man, I don't think I can properly emphasize how much hearing stuff like this means to me. I love art and story telling enough to do it no matter who's paying attention, but the fact that awesome people are actually out there and listening is just incredible to me

It's definitely a universal thing. Like, no matter how in control of the situation you think you are, you can't logic away your emotions. Things hurt sometimes, and you can't just talk yourself out of feeling sad. At least, I can't

Yeah, I tried so hard to move on, but the more I tried the more I sunk into depression. But the honest kicker to it all, was that my ex broke up with me without telling me we were through and started dating someone else behind my back... she literally ripped my heart into scrapsΒ
