Description
Now with a bio!Staggering Spirit comes from the bygone area before humanity began losing the Kaiju War, the peak of propaganda and kaiju gimmicks. This Mark 3 jaeger was built to work as a promotional tool, acting as a civilian jaeger equivalent to her much more militaristic brethren. Whereas all other jaegers were designed to fight kaiju, Staggering Spirit was designed to promote other jaegers and boost morale among civilians. She had tours around the world, revealing new jaegers to the public, drumming up support for the jaeger program, and helping to raise funds. Her own costs were quickly covered when dozens of mega corporations began franticly buying ad space on her.
Originally designed to be a lighter, faster counterpart to Gipsy Danger, Staggering Spirit sports a nuclear reactor power source, solid iron plating, and 40 diesel engines per muscle group. Instead of being armed with a plasma cannon and a retractable sword, like Gipsy, Spirit is armed with two confetti cannons, firework launchers, and a t-shirt cannon. While she doesn’t have any direct weapons, Spirit is very fast and nimble for a Mark 3 jaeger. She can run, spin, and even balance on one leg thanks to her gyroscopically stabilized body.
As a prototype for the gyroscopic stabilizing system that many jaegers would take for granted, Staggering Spirit’s development was considerably rocky. She would have been dropped entirely had it not been for a hefty donation by a USO tour manager. In exchange for the donation, he asked that Staggering Spirit be his own private property. Against the desires of many in the jaeger program, it was ultimately decided that Spirit would prototype the new stabilizers, remain unarmed, and be given to the tour manager.
Where other jaeger pilots are the face and voices of their jaegers, Spirit has her own voice and her pilots are virtually unknown. In fact, several rumors have risen that Spirit is actually controlled by an AI. The USO has not responded to these rumors.

Sorry, but I had to cut down on all the name ideas I got during the livestream I drew her in. There might have been 20 possible names at least!

That stoic "I don't care I'm an inanimate object" look on Gypsy's face is priceless.

Which is funny since Gypsy is a robot and can't have any paticular look on his face.

Oh yeah, total flirt. The other jaegers call her the "Colossal Corporate Whore."

For a $2.3-billion billboard, she seems respectably armored aside from that gap in the front of her skirt; then again, none of the Rimmers' beasties seem too keen on panty shots anyway. As for concealed weaponry, perhaps there's a 50'x75' flatscreen 'neath her fab ab-plates, set to melt faces with a continuously-updating 'Best of Jersey Shore' highlight reel. But seriously, those solid legs & snazzy 'ear' vanes well & truly bring this one together, as do her antics below.

"Fab ab."
I'll have a little more mercy on everyone and just give her a hidden t-shirt cannon.
*also sees huge conversation between you and Raven, dang!*

Ah, just noticed the new bio. Clever, concise stuff-though I can't help thinking S.S. could still rack up a moderate kill-count through, ehem, creative use of her promotional devices (tripping a confetti-blinded beast off Mt. Everest, lobbing plus-sized bottle rockets into an oil field, T-shirt matador-ing another into a volcano, etc.).

I was tempted to give her a small kill count, but I decided against it.

They contaminate our ruins, we contaminate their cortexes. Speaking of which, that nifty Hivemind Link(C) backfires in spectacular fashion as every damn Rimmer brain gets an eyeful of what brought about Codename Can'tUnsee's messy self-termination.

Weaponizing the Jersey Shore, while inventive, certainly goes against a number Geneva convention rulings.

I'm sure the biocidal aliens will have a decent case to press when & if they ever uncoil from the collective fetal position & learn Braille to compensate for all those torn-off sensory organs.

I just don't know, even flesh eating worms that shoot their young into people's eyes don't deserve that.
If they retain their sense of touch and that is a mighty big if.

Speaking of touch, spooky individual alternative: forcing Rimmer daikaiju-designers to drift with the poor bastards who oil down the cast. Nothing like reality show smell/tactile-o-vision.
