Actually it is a assault/battle rifle and the one shown is a carbine of the AR-15 also hk-416 is better short gas stroke 4life

Nicely composed, but then again, I'm kinda' partial to M4's (even though I realize this isn't exactly an M4.

Well, not exactly missing, it's a civillian rifle so it only has two settings, safe and fire, it's only capable of semi.

For the most part. AR-15 is a more general term for that style of assault rifle, originally made by the company ArmaLite. If you look at it like the AR-15 is a family of rifles, the M4 is a particular style of AR-15. The M4 (made by Colt) is a shorter body style made for close quarters urban combat, as opposed to the M16 which is a full length rifle used more in open terrain.
