Description
Chris isn't really a cop but I needed a model for a stand in on this shoot. He has the right look, he just needs his hair and facial hair cleaned up a little bit. So this is one of the photos from his shoot I probably won't use for anything - here it is once again for some more realistic police/swat/tactical stock photography. You can use this for artwork and reference material on or off DA. Noting me is not required (cause I think that's lame) but if you feel like linking me I'd enjoy seeing what you do with these. These ARE NOT TO BE USED FOR COMMERCIAL PROJECTS. If you break this rule you will be in big trouble. We make/buy/sell and work with machine guns for law enforcement, military, and mercenaries. Don't mess with us.

A well-deserved DD for a stunning stock image. I would love to use this for a personal piece that I will be posting here but nowhere else. This image has inspired a character and a story, and I will be using my work to illustrate a scene in said story.
Thank you for allowing use of such magnificent stock.

But the facial hair is cute I don't see why people are complaining about it.
Great stock photo!

Mmm..Guns. I love guns, lol. Unfortunately, thanks to my small size, most larger guns would knock me on my ass Biggest caliber weapon I've handled to date is a .22 rifle.
-noms on picture- I wish I could get some tactical boots. Unfortunately, I have yet to see any in a size 4 womens ><

I would really, really would like some form of tactical/combat boots. Preferably water proof with steel toe XD
I love hiking and there's a creek that runs through the woods that I normally tromp around in (wonderful for taking pictures in). Plus I deal with goats who enjoy stomping on my feet xD
Also, thanks for the watch, lol

Here's what I thought first:
If it's stock, I don't think I'd buy it.
That was my honest reaction.
ALTHOUGH, having had time to read through the comments of others, reading opinions, looking at the picture a few more times, I've come to a new conclusion:
I think you'd be the right person for a company to work with for stock photography.
Why? Because you're right, it's not the accuracy of the exact brand or model of equipment or product, it's the fact that by using what you had available you made a fantastic photo that IS NOT just another political piece or another raging teenager that has no restraint with the showing of guns or weapons. Your direction of the model, construction of a clean background, and collection of equipment for the shot is what makes you more of a professional than the people who claim you have no understanding of stock photography.
Keep it up

i gotta agree with the last comment. the fucking shoes are the rocks.
and fuck haters dude. i'm sure you've heard it all already though. this deserves a DD just for the props and composure/not containing tits or ass (for once)/and having a WHITE BACKGROUND. seriously-- stock photography taken in your cluttered-ass bedroom or backyard is pretty useless unless someone intends to just ref the pose.
and this kind of photo takes significantly more work than taking a picture of a sunset which the "artist" really had no part in creating.

Hey! Doc. Martens! Sweet!
I must say he looks pretty awesome! It's pretty accurate, but gives people enough room to make something of their own. Good work, well deserving of the DD!

Well done on this. As for all of the nit-picking comments, those people have no concept of what a great piece of stock art this is. Especially since its a male model. I mean, there are relatively few male stock images out there on this site and very few of those are costumed (and costumed well). Whoever is complaining about the shoes, the hat and all of that stuff arent real artists. They just want either to simply criticize your work or make something that takes no creativity by leaving the stock as is. A real artist uses this as a starting point, or even better, a reference.
So thanks for the awesome stock

Thank you so much for this type of stock. It's so hard to find accurate stock of gun usage. Fantastic, I'll be sure to use this soon!

Fascinating. Its not that often you get a fully costumed set like this. Authentic or not is really a bit silly, this would and is, great for instance someone wanting to draw a futuristic warrior, that would probably change the look and the weapon anyway. Its a reference, and a darned good one too.

Like what is said above, the stock should be in the shoulder, not above. For obvious reasons.
Anyway, it's a good stock image.

Pretty cool, really.
But I gotta say, he looks like a wanna-be.
No offence intended, just my thoughts.

If you don't have something nice to say? Don't say anything at all? Sound familiar?
Maybe no offence intended but I have been getting these comments [link] .
Anway, he IS a wannabe. Did you even read the description? He's not the real deal. He's someone who served as a STAND IN because my usual models (a county sheriff and a former marine corps sniper) weren't available at the time.

Desquode-the-Raven In reply to Blaq-Unicorn [2009-03-10 21:46:44 +0000 UTC]
*Cough* I believe you have misread my message. It says nowhere in the description that he himself is a wanna-be. Yes, it explains he is standing in, but that doesn't mean he wants to be what he is depicting.
The peice itself is quite nice, I do like it. But if you want to make it the best you can, why not wait until someone was availible? Is the piece not worth that wait, or was there a deadline to get the piece done in?
This is all probably sounding pretty "mean" or something, which is in no way my intention, it's just how I am.
As a side note, yes, I did read the description. Twice.

Blaq-Unicorn In reply to strohat [2009-03-10 21:02:16 +0000 UTC]
Tell ya what, how about you go ahead and buy me several pairs of Blackhawk tactical boots in multiple sizes to provide for my stand in models who don't own them, that way I'll be sure that the junk photos I contribute as stock to the community are wearing proper foot equipment. What do you say?
I didn't write that it was authentic gear. I know the model is wearing the wrong shoes. On the actual pieces this shoot was used for, you were only seeing the model from the waist up. The images I offer as stock are the throw-away images I didn't want.
