Description
Chris isn't really a cop but I needed a model for a stand in on this shoot. He has the right look, he just needs his hair and facial hair cleaned up a little bit. So this is one of the photos from his shoot I probably won't use for anything - here it is once again for some more realistic police/swat/tactical stock photography. You can use this for artwork and reference material on or off DA. Noting me is not required (cause I think that's lame) but if you feel like linking me I'd enjoy seeing what you do with these. These ARE NOT TO BE USED FOR COMMERCIAL PROJECTS. If you break this rule you will be in big trouble. We make/buy/sell and work with machine guns for law enforcement, military, and mercenaries. Don't mess with us.

Yes, you're right. Facial hair is bad.
Next things, the baseball cap and glasses are inappropriate. This ain't no special forces or SWAT uniform elements. But with a lil' retouching this can be a good final work.

At least you get that it's not supposed to be final work as it is, it's just a base to work off... I swear I am considering deleting this deviation so I don't have to keep getting comments and notes from people about how inaccurate it is.

hey i know you said that this can't be used for commercial use
but you also said that we can use this as a drawing reference (so the stock wasn't actually used)
can we use the finished project (this was just used as a drawing reference) for commercial use?
to make things more clear
i just want to really draw the pose
i'm not even going to be drawing him
can i use that for commercial use?

Yes, yes, yes people. I know his boots are wrong for authenticity. This is a stock photo and was by no means considered a finished proper shot. In the advertisements it was used for, I went in and digitally replaced his boots. His gear is all Blackhawk tactical gear, so the airsofters can stfu because that is the real deal stuff and those are real deal guns... Weekend warriors talk big but shoot plastic pellets at each other. That's 5.56mm NATO goodness right there.
I don't know why this got picked for a DD, I didn't ask for it, and I certainly didn't ask for the loud mouthed opinions of the airsoft crowd

Airsoft is good for shooting in the backyard or in the garage. I have a hard time understanding how tough they think they are dressed up in their 5.11 tactical gear shooting each other with plastic BBs.
Nothing replaces the feeling of a .308 leaving the barrel. That awesome feeling that your fillings might pop out of your teeth every time you chamber another round, wait for the breath to leave your lungs and at that last moment... squeeze the trigger .

Blaq-Unicorn In reply to skinsfactory [2009-03-10 17:25:05 +0000 UTC]
I know exactly what you mean. I was out shooting a .308 Springfield Armory Socom II for my birthday a couple of months ago and I think it was my favorite caliber I've shot. It's really satisfying and solid.
But you're right, there is absolutely nothing tough about airsoft. I wouldn't mind it so much if the people were not CONSTANTLY obnoxious about it.

Nice overall photo, but I feel his shoes put the overall image abit away from reality.
Also I have this feeling that a slightly more crouched stance would be in order.

Why is he holding the rifle so goofy?... Well it's a good thing he has the glasses on least

Because he isn't a trained police officer or soldier, he's just a friend we dressed up in a ton of Blackhawk gear and shot photos of.

biffspagnuts In reply to Blaq-Unicorn [2009-03-10 15:18:02 +0000 UTC]
Gotcha, it is perfectly understandable discrepancy if you have don't have any experience with firearms.
The glasses and hat fit the build as far as I know. The only thing you might want to change if you ever reshoot this is get the stock of the rifle down against his shoulder (if the stock is telescoping pull it out all of the way. Otherwise if in is retracted just get all away from the face). If one were to fire a rifle being held with the site that close to ones face the recoil would probably end up contacting the face/eye (so that is why I made the joke about glasses sorry for not being more clear.
Like others have said a good conceptual stock piece
