Chris isn't really a cop but I needed a model for a stand in on this shoot. He has the right look, he just needs his hair and facial hair cleaned up a little bit. So this is one of the photos from his shoot I probably won't use for anything - here it is once again for some more realistic police/swat/tactical stock photography.You can use this for artwork and reference material on or off DA. Noting me is not required (cause I think that's lame) but if you feel like linking me I'd enjoy seeing what you do with these. These ARE NOT TO BE USED FOR COMMERCIAL PROJECTS. If you break this rule you will be in big trouble. We make/buy/sell and work with machine guns for law enforcement, military, and mercenaries. Don't mess with us.

This is awesome. I saw one of the portrait shots from this series while browsing, but I'm glad I get to see this one as well. The lighting is great, and he looks totally badass.

you give a certain level of accuracy but still give me wiggle room to create more from it! So hard to find good stock these days, thanks for making it a little easier!

I guess we should add a disclaimer. This is stock art, not meant to be perfectly authentic. Why? Because us REAL artists don't want something authentic. We want the impression of the real thing, that way we get to spice it up and show off our real talent. Some people just want a photo reference of the pose, others the basic idea so that they can add more to it. In the end, it's about the idea put in visual form. So, before you start behaving like some jackass, think before you post. You really just look like a turd with no clue.
This is a very clear image, hardly any cast shadow, which is good, since I usually add my own shadows. It's important to have a virtually flat photo to add our own details. You also use a completely contrasting color for the background. This makes it much easier to cut out if I'm going to manip it. Actually, I could use Magic Eraser for most of it. Honestly, I don't see why anyone is putting it down. If they think it's "normal" work, their normal work must suck.

Tell ya what, how about you go ahead and buy me several pairs of Blackhawk tactical boots in multiple sizes to provide for my stand in models who don't own them, that way I'll be sure that the junk photos I contribute as stock to the community are wearing proper foot equipment. What do you say?

Personally, I think this is an awesome picture. The clarity and possibilities that are available to manipulators, AND traditional/digital artists are very wide.
Ignore all the idiots who can't seem to get over the fact that this is a /stock/ photo, and not meant to be 100% correct to "real world" in every area.
I love collecting stock, and use it often to practice drawing skills[even though I never upload them to dA]. Gotta love the pose, and that rifle is pure win. ;3

Huge congrats on the much deserved DD, is great to see "old deviants" providing "new stock", especially when they are of such excellent quality

So here is the thing... what more could one ask for in a stock photo? It is clear.. no blur AT ALL. It has a VERY easily removed background. You do not like facial hair? Remove it. You do not like the baseball cap? Find something else and replace it. The joy of this picture is that it is so well taken that you have the option of changing it. The only trouble you might have is finding stock that is the same quality to add to it. If it is not realistic enough for you, make it so. With a little work you can grunge him up, make him dark and scary. The point of stock is to have a great STARTING point. It isn't a new piece of art if you can just copy and paste it together and let it be.
I think this is a well deserved DD. There is a shortage of good male stock here because it seems like everyone wants a girl in a pretty dress, which is wonderful, BUT sometimes that damsel needs a guy to ride her off into the sunset, or in this case shoot that damn dragon out of the sky. Good job here. Looking forward to seeing more.

You are most welcome... I feel kind of inspired by this piece. I am sadly guilty of always finding the pretty girl in a dress, but only because usually this style of manipulation is not really my thing. You would think that with a husband who is a Marine I would be all for it, but I think I use my manipulations as an escape. I have enough of reality in my reality. I tend to banish it from my art
I did download this though because I have a son who I have never done a piece for and I think I have something in mind for him. He is 16 and a HUGE XBox 360 junkie. It may be a bit tongue in cheek when I am done, but I think this will be a good start. I really think that you could really do well with some more shots like this one. I adore the white bg since it makes for a lot less work for my poor carpal tunnel infested hands. I would love to see a few more poses and what not. Hopefully you will have more to show.
By the way... when it comes to holstered pistols, my husband says you can NEVER have too many

Yep it might not be technically accurate but who cares - YOU have taken the time to allow others to use it it can be manipulated in any way shape and form. has a great background for ease of extraction.
There are damn few good male stocks out there and i applaude you for letting folk use such high quality works.
For anyone that complains about it - let them get their sorry asses off that couch and see if they can do any better
