Description
Alternatively, peagon in action. First 3d modelling + texturing + animation attempt in blender, ho hum, there is one unfortunate blip in the middle that I may or may not find it in me to fix later - for the time being, 'tis due for class in a halfhour!Long-time watchers will probably recognize the painting this is based upon. I appear to be developing a habit of making animations out of old paintings!
Created in blender, textured in Photoshop and composited with Aftereffects. Probably took somewhere upwards of thirty hours on this, more if rendering time's counted!

Hi
We are finishing up on a 2’ short and I’m looking for a collaborator who can create a magical snake and sync the talking snake with some dialogue. I’m looking for about 2” of animation. This is festival short with possible legs for a series. Copy and credit provided. If interested please email me

So sorry, I don't do animation any more! Hope you managed to find someone.

Love it! How did you make the snakes glide so smoothly?

Thanks! It's done in a 3D program, so once you have the model and rig it up you pretty much set keyframes for each part of it and the program calculates the inbetweens for you at a higher framerate so it appears to move smoothly. If that makes sense D:

It does take quite a bit of effort D: I tried once long ago and gave up, honestly I only managed this much so fast because I had to for a class in school, ahah. But if you really want to learn, [link] has some good tutorials!

No problem, all the best with it 3D programs are a pain to learn at first mostly because or the bazillion hotkeys you need to get used to, I feel. After you get used to it you start using them everywhere in programs that don't support them, heh.

i love how we expect a showdown between a bird and the snake but got a strange twist at the end! amazing work, dear!

"Twist", indeed. For the last shot I had to manually tweak all those snakes so they didn't dislocate their snakey spines... too much, anyway.

What 3D program did you use? I find 3D max works well for realism and maya works best for animation.

Maybe I'll try 'em someday! For now, all 3D stuff I'm making is purely done in Blender.

I don't know Blender. All your snakes need is to fix the neck rig so that they don't brake and you just need to put in some bump maps. Then it can be used in a movie or TV. LOL. I do love it.
