I'm just wondering seance I'm new to using Photoshop cs3 (yes I'm a newb) how do you get those outlines when I try to use the ellipse tool I don't even get an outline but only a solid color could you help me and explain why this is happening and how I can fix this?

Sorry it has taken so long to reply to this comment (is on a different account now [link] )
But for your question, I had the same trouble too when I first got CS3. To change this select the ellipse tool. You'll notice the toolbar change at the top.
There will be three small squares, the first with points on its corners, the second with the pen tool inside, and the third with a simple square. Choose the second one and this will stop your ellipse from filling instantly into a colour ^^ To get the outline however just right click on your workspace and select stroke path. You'll need to choose the brush/pencil etc beforehand, but you'll see when you try it
Sorry for such a long answer

yea but the burning helps for the curve of the eye, wich can't be done easily with gradients...
