Description I have held on to this photo for years with the idea to spice it up somehow without changing its natural elements. Somewhere in early 2011 (I believe), I went on my first photoshoot, for the first time, with my sister. It started raining on us, so we had to call our shoot to an end, but not without first grabbing a picture of the bouncing rain. I fell in love with this photo, but I never liked how dull the colors were or how the rain blended in too much with the background. I just never knew how to fix it without ruining the photo. Earlier today, I got this photo out one more time to try to fix it up for posting. I finally got it how I wanted it! The beautiful colors in the background are popping perfectly, while the rain stays the main focus, contrasted heavily with the rest of the image. The wood grain is a little less obnoxious now, too! I used a whole host of Good Nik filters for this. I never knew rain looked like this when it hit things. I learned something back then that really excited me: Rain bounces, it's doesn't just splatter!

Thank you, for the lovely camera that helped me get this beautiful photo, and the many others that I still have in my archives! You gave me back my love and passion for photography and encouraged me in ways that I never thought were possible. Even though it was (and really is now) an old camera, it made me believe that I could one day, be a professional photographer who reaches greatness, like my big sister has done before me. It let me see how much you believe in me, how much you care for me, and how far you think I can go! Because of you, I know I can reach my dreams and achieve my goals in my lifetime. You are my biggest inspiration and my greatest muse. I could never do or improve at my art without you. Thank you for always being there for me, encouraging me, and pushing me to keep at it all this time! I love you!

I love it!!
It was fall of 2010, I remember that day like it was yesterday. I also remember outrunning the tornado that was hitting right behind us and hoping that you didn't realize the storm was as bad as it was. LOL I was so glad to get back to my house and out of the path of that storm. And I had a blast standing out on the porch with you, taking pictures of the rain!

Awwwww  I was so excited to be able to give you that camera. It was my first Digital SLR too, I was a 35mm girl before that. I done tattoos until I thought my arm would fall off to get that one LOL. I thought (and still think) it was a better camera than the Cannon I upgraded to. I wanted you to have a chance to really do something with your budding photographic eye, and that was the best tool for the job.
I told you back then and I am telling you now, one day you will far surpass me in artistic skill and ability. You are a natural artist!
I am so glad to have been able to inspire and encourage you along the way, and I am so proud of your accomplishments at every stage in your development (artistic and otherwise). I love you more than life, Little Sister!

Yay!

That's right. I was a few months off. Lol. I never realized the storm was bad. You never reacted to it in any way that told me I needed to worry. I was comfortable with you and knew I was safe in your hands. There was no need to worry about it. I was a bit anxious because bad weather always does that to me, but not like I would have been had I known it was a tornado! I had a blast, too!

I just still cannot believe you just gave me that camera like it was nothing at all, knowing how expensive they can be. I just can't get over it. That really means the world to me.

Awww. Thank you so, so much! (I think you are even more proud about them than I am, sometimes! XD )   I know you do, I feel the same!
