Description
2554 YatO - Crossing the BarbeshWithin a few years, Hermil Tashrany had united the cities of the west under his leadership and, in 2554 YatO, led a huge cavalry army across the Barbesh into the territory of the Awrani in order to subjugate the city-states there. The Awrani were less easily persuaded to submit to his rule, so he ultimately had to fight many battles against the warriors of the Awranian cities. But since the city-states were hostile to each other instead of allying against Hermil Tashrany, he conquered the Awranian Highlands up to the northeastern foothills of the Cloud Mountains little by little within half a year. He thus established the Awrani's reverence for the Taribian art of war, who finally recognized their opponent's superiority and accepted their defeat.
Some of his biographers claim that after Hermil Tashrany had conquered all the cities north of Ma'ouwat, he planned to attack the Sa'atik kingdom as well, but first he ensured that trade with the south and everywhere within his empire flourished: On the one hand, he introduced the uniform weight and thus currency system based on the weight of a typical Tarib horse saddle (Tar), and on the other hand, he planned to connect all the cities of the empire by a well-developed and guarded road, which was later called the 'Taribian Road' (Taribishey) in the west and east.
From Berresh, Hermil Tashrany's city foundation at the mouth of the Barbesh into the Circle Sea, road construction throughout the empire was managed, and the tax collectors also came from there, whose income was used to finance the construction projects. But the money and taxes that were not needed for road construction went almost entirely to Hannai, at least for the Tarib the centre of the world, to make this city the most magnificent in Hermil Tashrany's domain.
Incidentally, equal opportunities did not exist under Hermil Tashrany's rule. The Tarib were to be found in all military and civil leadership positions, the Awrani remained subjects, even the path to become a part of the administration was closed to them. But they were also not required to follow the commandments of the Written. The individual cities had religious freedom, were allowed to continue to maintain their respective urban armies - and to pay their annual tribute to the empire. And every Awrani was of course free to study with war philosophers of all stripes.
