Love those eyes and his lips! Nice job with the shading! White hai rcan be a pain to draw-i think you would still have some darks even in th elight hair- since you have such a gradient elsewhere, the hair kinda sticks out.

I think his hair maybe needs more shading depth as it seems to be without a light source, but other than that it's great!

The light and shadow is really well done, very perceptive. I would add a little more dark shadow around certain edges to give a little more depth. However its really good. All you have to do is master hair :

Yes I am. It was probably FF IV what I played first, but VII was the first one I owned. I have played trough parts I, II, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, X-2, XIII and XIII-2.

I think you added in the black background digitally?Β
The edges are too sharp (the "difference" between the traditional and digital parts of the picture) and I think if you're going to add in the black background digitally, you should use a brush (like in Photoshop). I have a feeling you used the fill bucket here. xD Also, if the background is going to be so dark, his hair should have more contrast! Right now, the background is drawing more of my attention than his face/hair.Β
His eyes are excellent though. They're so shiny and full of life.Β
The black background should be more like the black parts of his outfit--that is, not entirely black and with more "values".

Yeah, it's better now, because the colour isn't as dark (the background). No problem!
However, the edge is still pretty sharp and is really different from the traditional part of the picture. Maybe you should just leave the background as white? Was it white in the original traditional picture? Or did you choose to colour over it because the paper was wrinkled or something?
