Many view Notus as a lazy, good for nothing, prick who thinks little of all around him. An arrogant human that listens not of his elvin parents that raised him out of the goodness of there hearts when they found him wandering without parents as a child. In getting to know him he is in fact lazy but not a good for nothing. He trains and raises birds for others and personal use. Many of his favorite bird receive names and even markings by him. He can often be found in trees or even in high places in search of rare birds.
His tranquil nature well hides that he loves a rush. Sometimes resulting in him making stupid decisions and getting hurt. Whether it be setting something on fire, rushing into a fight to defend himself or others, or trying to get to know some kind of large dangerous bird. He likes activity when there is something he wants but otherwise won't do much for no reason.It's also hard to move him once he's decided, he's laying down, to the extent that if you try to force him to move he'll make an effort to ignore you and relax...or summon a giant bird to drive you off.

Nae: The raven generally cares for his well being. Who he only listens to part of the time and but does respond. (he looks crazy talking to birds all the time)She will translate speech from other birds to him, tell him what to do, and threaten others including those around him since most wouldn't understand her. He tends to refuse to tell others what she says. Unless someone’s stroking her ego. She can be very vain but she values the bond that she has with Notus and will protect him the best she can.
History:
    Born to a band of travelers along the roads. His birth mother was supposedly a merchant and his father a decent mage. He wouldn’t know, he hasn’t seen them since he was 5. He was taken in by a pair of older elves after they happened across him enough times alone. At first inquiring about where his parents were, but receiving no answers It is not sure if his parents are dead or just abandoned him, he doesn’t talk about it. The elves practically adopted him and started to teach him how to take care of the many bird that they owned, many of them being exotic, powerful, or just simply beautiful. Many of the birds were for sale or were for show as people would pay to see them.
    Despite, the pair showing that they cared they would never admit to have taken Notus under his wing. Though they easily accommodated feeding him as long as he cleaned up after the birds, and got very used to his company.Up until he started playing with magic, in which they hired a tutor to teach him how to hone his abilities, enough so he didn’t blow up anything or accidentally kills someone, since he was a very curious and enjoyed experimentation.
    His growing years weren’t spent with many others in general, elves were often to prideful to talk to him, and the children often mimicked their parents behavior and even mocked Notus, who simply started to avoid others in general in favor of spending time in the trees or with the avians. He dreamt of being in the skies with the birds though his parents tended to discourage him, insisting on sticking around and tending to the shop. So he stopped talking about his dreams, it was pretty easy as he found himself a good distraction during that time.
During Notus's times searching for a summon through his studies and the encouragement to find a powerful beast for his first summon. He happened across a young injured raven at the time, probably damage from another bird. Scratches on her body and damaged wings. He found himself taking pity on the creature and summoning her. His parents didn’t like the fact he was taking care of an unimpressive bird, but aloud assuming he would release her and go for a larger one soon enough. To say they were wrong as the raven took a shine to him as he almost pampered her for a year as she was recovering from her wounds. Keeping her summoned was actually great practice for him as it helped him learn how to steadily control the amount of magic he used. Eventually he named her Nae, seeing as he wanted to call her something as they would often play, he’d even talk to her seeing his lack of companions. Through more studying and work Notus also learned a spell allowing him to better understand her...still not sure if he regrets it or not, but he wont cast a spell like that on anything else anytime soon. Nae was smart enough to know when to show herself and when to hide from the critical eyes of his parents, she would often remind him of the chores he forgot and tried to keep him out of trouble which he determined was nagging.
    His parents seemed to enjoy the change, thinking that he had finally decided to work the shop for the rest of his days. Openly talking about it while the boy slept, unaware of the raven listening to them. Glad to have someone else to clean up and do the really hard work. Nae made sure they were far away from the couple before telling him what the pair thought of him. Honestly, Notus wasn't that surprised but it saddened him to have his suspicions confirmed. Though he refused to outright leave at but instead got a job taking care of messenger pigeons and, started working with birds that could hunt as a way to feed himself. Nae herself would even hunt for the both of them. She claims to only stick to him because he would be lost without her.
    As soon as he got enough to take care of himself he left with his bag and hasn't looked back. He doesn’t live in the best parts, but he does enjoy keeping his appearance nice enough. He doesn't like being talked down to which is another reason he continues to practice in hopes of becoming a strong enough summon and keep around larger flying beasts.

Additional info:
His summons tend to be avian in nature, but he can summon a few bats and an insect or two.
His normal summons are almost always from a realm he calls Plume canyon. He can only maintain 2 at a time, usually nae is one of them. His larger summons take a lot out of him so he only has them out when he needs them, and can't maintain them for long, usually leaving him exposed afterwards. He can increase the time the summon holds and reduce his strain by using special crystals. Or actually dispelling nae

While he is goodish with people, he's not used to the company of others or even them talking to him.

Becomes paranoid when it is completely dark. Complete with girly screams if something grabs him unexpectedly.
He really does love draks, and has almost gotten a finger bitten off by one.
HIs raven Nae often threatens to take someone’s eyes but Notus doesn’t pay much mind to her.
It is almost impossible to find nea without seeing Notus nearby.

If he passes out from magic exhaustion, even Nae will fade from this world till he has recovered enough to re summon her.
