Five years of CGing improvement, from really bad to sort of bad.
I deleted some of the more embarrassing older pieces in my gallery, but left most of them for the purpose of showing the gap between my art now and my art in the past.
I hope people find this inspiring to some extent. Anyone can improve. Jiayou! ^^

This gives me so much hope!! Ugh I just started anime style and my stuff looks like February 2004! XDD! Thank you so much for putting this up so I know that it is not impossible to go from where I am to where you are (it just takes years and hard work but not impossible!). Thank you so much! Wow! I think the most encouraging thing in art is looking back and seeing your own progress. I stopped drawing for a few months a little while back so theres a huge gap with like 0 improvement, lol. Although, I look at things like this and look at my art from little as one year ago and I'm really excited for my drawing future. I used SAI for a little bit, but I like openCanvas more. <3
Also, things like this make me smile.
My main problem now is trying to figure out how people/you make those beautiful eyes on your guys, ahhh!

Indeed, anyone can improve with practice. I'm amazed at how well you've improved over the time. It just goes to show that if anyone tries hard enough, they can pull of something amazing :3.
If I look back at some of my older drawings, it makes me want to throw them all away because of how horrible they are XD. But it's taken me actually about a year to get to where I'm at right now. Though it couples with the fact I draw mostly every day '>w>

I drew rather infrequently, so I'd forget how I CGed, develop a new style, forget style, develop a new style... that kind of cycle. xD; I incorporated new ideas and pointers I observed in art I liked while I developed new methods. :>

Oh... I tried SAI, but it's too confusing. I have PS CS4.
I wanted to know how to make precise shading on hair and clothing... Like, how at the tips of hair, how you shade. It's very nice.

If you do celshading and pay attention to details, you should be able to shade hair fine. :]

Hm. I jut saw that there was a tool tha you could like, highlight the tips of the hair, and then just fill it in the the colour you want... I don't know.

My main sources of inspiration are good art, music, and (less frequently) anime. Good art makes me want to draw better, so I go off and draw... somthing entirely different from what I was looking at. xD; I'm a believer of the saying, "shoot for the moon, because even if you don't make it, you'll still end up among the stars"-- that is, aim high. Make the professional level your goal for art and that should inspire you enough ("pull you up" towards the pros, I guess) to get better. :]
