Description
Hi guys! This is kind of a drawing seven years in the making, meaning I've wanted to draw book!Crowley and book!Aziraphale ever since I first read Good Omens back in 2012, but just for some reason never got around to it until now. I suck, no news there. I decided to go for my slightly more cartoonish-ish style and just make this a fun little not-too-ambitious drawing (I mean... that was the plan, but...). I used my watercolour pencils as well as markers. I also ended up tweaking the drawing a lot on GIMP because I realised I kinda messed up a lot of stuff while inking and only properly realised it while I was looking at this on the computer screen. So this is definitely a mix of traditional and digital now. I only now really realise how little I've been inking or colouring lately. :/ Crowley's sunglasses-holding arm still looks a bit weird, but... uh... he's a snake demon so he doesn't need to care how elbows or wrists should really work?I think my favourite part is the wine splatter.
So, anyway, I love this book. I love these two. I originally wanted to draw them the way I remember imagining them during my first read-through of the book, but I may have ended up letting other (much better) fanart influence this one a bit. I think I originally imagined Crowley wearing a white shirt and a black tie, but he ended up going for no tie and something more burgundy. Also I still see Aziraphale with a red waistcoat in my mind, but I wanted contrast to Crowley's now red shirt, so blue tartan sweater vest it is. I was thinking that they've got more casual while getting drunk as a celebration of Armageddon not happening. After their dinner at The Ritz, obviously.
Good Omens is the creation of Sir Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.
