For Technical 3D stuff nah, im not the best person to ask. Im mostly a painting guy...
So photoshop/general drawing hints at best...

I never use the pen tool, its kindof a pain in the butt.
Not usefull for what i do.

And...Painter is as free as photoshop : )

would you say photoshop 6.0 is a good progrem to use for all the drawings and stuff- and how do you use the pen tool ?

Yeah photoshop is fine. If you re more into real paint looking style you might want to check painter though.
well i got a pen tablet, so i just draw with the basic brushes. I dont have much personnal brushes. Just a few.

Its really close to photoshop except that you can mix colors together like real paint !
I never use it though so on the more complex stuff you ll need tutorials...
