Description
Wow this was fun to do!!!I went on a huge nostalgic Disney kick the other day, and pulled out my favourite Disney movie of all time: The Little Mermaid. The music and art never fail to inspire me, and I found the entire soundtrack on youtube and put it on loop several times as I did this picture. Originally Ariel was supposed to be much darker, almost to the point that you couldn't tell who she was (originally this piece was titled "Who Is that Mysterious Woman", from Eric's point of view as he blearily sees Ariel over his shoulder), but after I played with the colors a bit, I thought this was more suitable.
The favourite part to do was the fin, and that only took 1/25th of the time it took to do everything else T^T. I had hoped I could have done more with it, but I had reached my "happy" threshold for it and my brain already then itched to do something else. The hair took as long as the sky and the sea.
I realize there are quite a lot of issues with her anatomy and the shading of the lighting source; any constructive criticism or suggestions on such would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks for looking, and mucho thanks for any comments/favs and feedback! Hope you enjoy it!

Well done! The colors you chose work well together. I like your reference to finding your "happy" threshold.

Thank you very much!! I've always had a bit of glitch with colour theory, so I was really hoping somehow the colours I had picked were in harmony with one another!
I could find no other word for "when you've worked on something and suddenly your brain decides it's good enough and wants you to work on something else."
Thank you again!

Heehee you are very welcome!
well, I am not a big fan of a lot of Disney princesses, because I don't relate to any XD. I was obsessed with Ariel my whole life (I have an Ariel blanket on me right now XD my child room had the scene where she lay on a rock picking flowers under the water painted on the wall hahahahhahaahhha!!), but the latest Disney princess, the only one in 3D, rapunzel stole my heart . I watched Tangled 5 times so far XD too bad she might be the last Disney princess :/

Ah!! Rapunzel!! I love how they rendered her hair! She's really adorable, I love how quirky she is! She's so sweet and brave !
Ariel has always been a huge favourite of mine, but I also found of the "new generation" princesses I fell a lot in love with Giselle.
...Please don't remind me! :heartbreak:
